ALLY!!! PRISON BREAK ON MONDAY!!!

chris, thanks for the heads up on The Bank Job (probably on your podcast, Cue the Film). fun movie. now i've got to wiki the whole darn thing.

Chris JC said...

The Bank Job was a special episode of Cue the Film that just featured Emily and myself. We should, of course, have checked if any of the other hosts wanted to be on.

Never mind - I hope you enjoyed the episode and I'm very glad you enjoyed the film. I didn't realise Poirot could be so terrifying.

Wesh said...

Hey, wait, Palmer! What do you mean "prison break on monday"? Is it actually that what you're saying?
*googles*
What?! It's true! w00000t!
2 hour premiere deluxe extravaganza!

Sweet deal, thx for the heads up.

Stephanie said...

The Bank Job is good.
Been watching a lot of Arrested Development.
Wanna Bet? is horrible. What's up with all these British hosts on American shows these days? I don't really have a problem with it. Merely an observation.
What else have I been watching?
Smallville. At first it starts out shallow. The show isn't concerned with where the villain comes from. But the past couple of seasons with the addition of the Justice League, it improves. Next season, Clark begins his transformation into the Clark Kent we are familiar with. Check it out. I won't see watching all 7 seasons but I'll be watching a selected few here and there.

PalmerEldritch said...

saw a commercial for it the other day and my jaw dropped that it was back so soon. good stuff.

looks like T-Bag may have a new, possibly creepier, look this season. wonderful.

PalmerEldritch said...

the Smallville season that I started watching at (4? 5?) was all about witches or some crap. my brother had just come back from law school and i'd watch it with him.

anyhow, that season was pretty awful but it's gotten better since then. the key to remember is that it is a goofy show based on a goofy comic book. which means relax and have fun.

also, Chloe is the only smart person in Smallville or Metropolis. and even she is dumb enough to date Jimmy Olsen. wtf?

scrdmnkydst said...

I started watching Smallville properly last season, but all of the old episodes have been played on tv loads of times, so if i'm bored i'll put it on... i quite like it, but not enough to watch it from start to finish.

I'm so excited for prison break. it's gonna be ace. well i hope so anyways.

[ally] said...

i can't wait for prison break, palmer! i watched the finale on monday when they repeated it, i'd forgotten how intense tv can be. this show makes you feel like you could die of heart attack at any second. it's great!

creepier t-bag? awesome!

PalmerEldritch said...

i want to see an ad for prisonbreak with the narrator saying "You Won't Believe How He Tattoos His Way Out of This One!!"

Bellick still needs to die for killing Marilyn.

PalmerEldritch said...

finally... a reason to own a cell phone!

Chuck Norris: Bring on the Pain

[ally] said...

yeah bellick has been a pain since season 1, i'm surprised they haven't offed him yet. t-bag is enough of a villain so that we don't really need any more antagonazing.

yeah at first it was all about the tattoos and now it's like suddenly he's smart enough to figure stuff out without the tattoos. as if, he anticipated this to go down the way it did.

More cakes.

Everyone please blow Gustov back out of the Gulf, or at least hold it off from landfall until Tues. We are leaving for Louisiana Friday and are planning to be in New Orleans Sat-Mon. I really don't want to get evacuated.

- September is probably going to break me with all of the shows returning. This is the danger of watching shows on DVD during the summer, because they all eventually come back.

- I was tempted to try Smallville a couple of times because i like sci-fi/fantasy shows, and Lana Lang is really hot, but i've stayed away because i've never been too interested in Superman or highschool.

- Lost theory: it's purgatory

Stephanie said...

Lana Lang is annoying but Chloe makes up for it. Yeah, you can see CW wants to make it Dawson's Creekish but it's Superman. It's good on the whole.

[ally] said...

Everyone please blow Gustov

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!

[ally] said...

and yeah i agree. i'm afraid it's gonna be raining this weekend or monday when i'm driving back from the trip. i really hope it doesn't get too bad.

PalmerEldritch said...

"It's good on the whole."

phonetic that's what she said!!!

chris, Poirot?! was that who that guy was? i was trying to place him but couldn't figure out where i'd seen him. Poi-freakin'-rot? funny stuff.

scrdmnkydst said...

Poirot?

am i getting confused with the belgian detective?

PalmerEldritch said...

poirot is a villain, as they like to say very five minutes, in The Bank Job.

PalmerEldritch said...

every five minutes, even.

PalmerEldritch said...

hmmm... maybe steer clear of New Orleans for a few? better safe than soggy.

in other news, Baghdad wants a giant Ferris Wheel.

um... should someone tell them that they probably shouldn't put up what is almost literally a giant target there? isn't that asking for trouble?

memphish said...

I'm already in for a hotel and museum tix so we will press on. Traffic should be light going in right? And I've got a sister in Baton Rouge and we're spending Friday night with her. Worst case I suppose we can bug back out to her house along with a 1/2 million other people.

Palmer I've been thinking of you often this week. Kid has New Hampshire as a spelling word. It's a hard word to learn to spell. Amazingly he's got Massachusetts down cold, but NH, not so much.

memphish said...

Whatever happens with the hurricane we just have to make sure we don't get stuck having to go the 1-year-old great-nephew's birthday party in Batesville, MS. I'll brave a levee breach in light of that.

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

he should protest on a technicality:

New Hampshire is two words.

New England has crazy state names like Massachusetts and Connecticut. the easy ones are Vermont and Maine. Rhode Island is spelled hinkey too and even Maine doesn't make any sense since they've randomly tacked an E at the end.

I'm waiting to see is M-I-crooked letter-crooked letter-i-crooked letter-crooked letter-i-humpback-humpback-i is going to fly when we get to the South.

[ally] said...

good luck on your trip, holli. i'm going through a similar situation, except in my case i'll probably be driving back when this thing is coming at us.

memphish said...

Right now it's projected to head ashore in Miss. Of course we'll have to drive all the way thru Miss. to get home on Mon. But hey, as long as we're home by 7 pm for Tenn/UCLA it's ok with me. Of course it all may change in a moment's notice.

Carnival was a riot. It was all good before that - jerk chicken and Red Stripe good.

καλό ταξίδι Holli & Ally.

You know what London needs?

Guns.

[ally] said...

say what? lol.

is this the same carnival where people were getting stabbed? has it been a year already since that?

Today's Urban Dictionary:

mis-wave
To return a wave to someone you think is waving at you, but is actually waving to the person behind you. Usually results in embarrassment and introversion.

PalmerEldritch said...

oh, i've mis-waved before. oops.

what's up, blogspotica?

Jordan said...

What up peeps. Just got home yesterday. So I've been up all night seeing as how it's 4 in the afternoon for me. New Prison Break? Sweet!

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah, prison break on monday. i think it's a two hour premiere.

welcome back to the US of A. play some PS3.

Jordan said...

I would. But I need to go get it. I let a friend borrow it while I was away. I've heard this game Metal Gear Solid is supposed to be good.

Chris JC said...

Hope you enjoyed European pricing. PS3 games are basically free by comparison.

Jordan said...

Apparently I've been told by a few people that I need to go see Tropic Thunder. Any other recommendations from the past couple months? Alls I've seen is Batman.

PalmerEldritch said...

i've heard Step Brothers is funny but i think i'll wait for the Blu-Ray. probably going to wait for the Blu-Ray on Tropic Thunder too unfortunately.

Stephanie said...

Jordan, If you like or can relate to Pot Humor, I recommend Pineapple Express. Do see Tropic Thunder but it's not as funny imo as PE. I'm currently looking for Hamlet 2 on the internet. I heart Steve Coogan's self deprecating humor.

Jordan said...

Yeah Chris. But at least you guys earn almighty pounds and euros. So it isn't as bad for you as it is for us in americaland, where we are compensated with toilet paper. But yeah, shit is expensive for us yanks over there. Especially up in the northern countries like Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. I saw MGS4 in a store in Denmark that cost $125 US. Also, a McDonald's burger, fry, and coke combo in Oslo ran near $17. I felt like a hobo who had accidentally stumbled into a royal palace. Nice to be back in the good ol' USofA. No more paying 1.5 times (or worse) the cost of everything.

[ally] said...

welcome back jordan! i'd like to second steph's recommendation for pineapple express, it was good times.

i have yet to see tropic thunder, i'll try to go check it out next week, unless we're flooded or something.

t-dot kim said...

I liked Tropic Thunder 2x as much as Pineapple Express. I forgot I even saw Step Brothers, I guess it wasn't that great of a flick afterall :(

Chris JC said...

I'm toying with seeing a film today.

I've just checked my local cinemas.

Now toying with the idea of running up the side of a building instead. I think it will be a more successful and entertaining enterprise.
