Odds are I'll be in and out after the episode. Hubby's taking the kid to school tomorrow, so technically I can get in my PJs now and wear them until about 3 pm tomorrow. Pretty cool, eh?

Ok. So it's the pre-Lost thing going on at the moment.

To be perfectly frank, Richard is kinda hot. In a weird way.

He isn't dead, is he? I can't remember.

memphish said...

Richard isn't dead, but don't count on seeing him anytime soon Gillian. Dr. Eyeliner spent the first part of the season on a different show.

Oh yeah...oh well.

OMG! Hurley?? What, has he suddenly become a Duke boy?!

This show is making me ridiculously excited.

Anonymous said...

Am I alone in thinking that was one of the weakest episodes ever? I WANTED it to be great, but it wasn't. I know it was set-up, though. Anyway, the Jacob stuff was cool, and Lance Reddick is awesome! That's about all...

What a beautiful performance given by Jorge. I must drop him a message on myspace.

Stephanie said...

Jorge got rid of his myspace?

I kinda liked this episode. I mean...Hurley episodes, to me at least, are meant to make you feel all warm and happy inside...this one? Not so much.

In short, it freaked me out.

But...these flash forwards are really interesting. At first I thought I wouldn't like them because then you would know who got off the island, and not everyone is as tight-lipped about what happened as Jack and Hurley seem to be, so...yeah.

That said, however, I shed a couple of tears when Hurley told Claire that Charlie was dead. And when he gave his little speech. Awww...

memphish said...

Anon. I didn't think it was weak, but it also didn't knock my socks off. It was solid. I think it did a good job of moving everyone around, having everyone pick sides and dealing with Charlie's death. One of the big complaints last year was how we never saw everyone dealing with Jack, Kate and Sawyer being gone. I think they solved that sort of problem admirably. But, I'm not sure how long they can string us out with the "secret" of the Oceanic 6. I don't think I'm willing to wait very long to find that out.

I'm not sure why they dragged out Naomi's death. Seemed kind of pointless. The only relevance seemed to be her covering for the 815ers so that the Freighter-folk didn't come in storming the beach.

Holli

Steph, try Jorge's blog.

andrew. said...

- i agree. Jorge stepped it up.

- they're really stringing us along for that Oceanic commercial.

Minneapolis Ryan said...

IDK i thought this episode was good, i know what you guys mean, i really thought thier was going to be more with the first few min of the show, somthing that would shock us..

but for the amount of material they had to go over, they did a nice job.

memphish said...

I can't believe y'all are watching for that. I'm willing to trust DarkUFO to have it up seconds after it runs.

Compared to the start of S2 and S3 it was flat, especially if you knew whose episode it was which is a minor spoiler. I don't think any of us guessed it over on the boards. Except the spoiled MB.

I thought it was great, enough to blow my mind a few times

ie Charlie, Jacob's cabin

International-J said...

I see this as a new book to the Lost Chronicles, not just a chapter, therefore the style is just a bit different from the previous seasons

memphish said...

Be sure to check out who is in Jacob's cabin.

[ally] said...

I'm not gonna lie, I cried like a bitch when Hurley told Claire about Charlie.

So WTF is up with Hurley now? He has visions? He imagines things? If he's imagining them, then how did that other guy see Charlie?

So now we know 6 of them got off the island or at least publicly.

DenAss said...

Maybe I've just been really hungry, and I just had a cracker, but GOT-DAYUM, that was the best cracker I've had in a long time. What was that? a Ritz?

(apologies if you haven't seen Eddie Murphy Raw, back when he was funny)

But my point is, I really liked this episode. I'm not sure what anon meant about one of the weakest episodes ever. I haven't had many (ok, not ANY) tear-jerker moments throughout the first 3 seasons, but when Hurley tells Claire about Charlie, I almost ...ALMOST... felt a tear welling up.

Can't wait to hear more of what everyone else thought.

memphish said...

There were a lot of "awwwww" moments. Hurley was involved in most of them. But Sawyer too, trying to comfort Hurley. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and after 8 months it was satisfying, but it was a chess episode, moving everyone around, players changing sides, etc. Certainly didn't answer but 1 question -- Hurley got off; 6 did total. Okay 2 -- Jack had the balls to kill Locke.

denass--my point was that it just wasn't anything special. again, everyone waited 8 months and therefore wanted it to be great. i just think that if you look at the episode objectively it wasn't that great. i know i may be alone in thinking this now, but maybe others will agree eventually.

Stephanie said...

Who was in Jacob's cabin?
I was thinking it was Locke's eye we see.
How did the other patient see Charlie?
Dom looked rather nice.
I know this is going to sound heartless. I've been thinking this all day. Hopefully Aaron will make it off the island and survive but I'm ready for Claire to go, as in die.

Stephanie said...

That could be Christian Shephard. Looks like he is wearing white sneakers.

Stephanie said...

I can't wait to see how Hurley gets off the island since he went with Locke instead of Jack.

memphish said...

I think that 3rd picture clearly shows it is Christian Shephard. I think the eye may be Mikhail.

Holli
only 1 name this time

DenAss said...

Holli,

So in that link you posted, it sure looks like Christian Shephard. Then, over on imdb, it credits John Terry as appearing in this episode.

I know that imdb isn't always right, but in this case, 2 + 2 just might = 4.

Minneapolis Ryan said...

it looked kinda like hurleys eye at first, u havent checked caps yet

[ally] said...

RE: the eye
When I first saw it on the episode I thought it might be Locke. But now by seeing the screencaps I'm thinking it's def not him, but can't think of who it could be.

Is Mr. Friendly still alive? (it's been too long since i've seen this show) Cause it kinda looks like him.

The 'Jacob' in the chair is def Christian Sheppard.

[ally] said...

Didn't Jacob not like the light? Why was there light in the cabin? Why was he so ok with it?

memphish said...

It was the lantern like Ben used.

memphish said...

So the Oceanic ad ran and the dude from the game, Sam Thomas, hacked the ad and showed that they had found the wreckage of Flight 815. I can't get either the Oceanic site or the find815 site to load. Darn obsessive LOST fans.

Holli

Unknown said...

I did see that John Terry did have a show credit, so I would agree that Christian Sheppard is in the cabin. Although I didn't see him during the show.

I really want to know what got Jack hitting rock bottom from this flashforward to the last one. Is he being haunted by ghosts too?

Loved the episode. Great performance from Jorge.

How weird was the guy that visited Hurley? The "Oceanic" guy that conveniently forgets his biz cards.

PalmerEldritch said...

that episode was pretty fantastic. really liked it. and jorge stepped up big time. we got happy fun time hurley, crazy hurley, and sad jorge. pretty cool to think that not too long ago he was on Ben's couch recording a commentary with the Dharmalars.

good to have all these blogspotters back. you've been missed.

ok, so what can we say about the timeline? jorge is back in the institution before Jack goes Beardtastic and "someone" dies.

the Oceanic 6 do NOT consist of only people currently allied with Jack and Kate who are trying to get off of the island.

somewhen, Claire and Aaron get on a helicopter according to Desmond's vision. but they're allied with Locke. and so is Hurley but he's a member of the Oceanic 6. interesting...

hey. what's up with Rose wanting to get off the Island? won't she die?

PalmerEldritch said...

oh and i liked the "hugo seeing dead people" stuff. very cool.

and the "Oceanic lawyer" seems to want to know if anyone's still on the Island. creepy!

[ally] said...

"hey. what's up with Rose wanting to get off the Island? won't she die?"

it seems to me that the only thing she knows for sure is that she doesn't want to go with "that man".

When That "oceanic lawyer" showed up I I could think was he had a creepy vibe like the Haitian (Heros)

well, i guess tomorrow i have to figure out the show format so i can talk about this crumby episode.

just kidding. i thought it was great!

Mattastic said...

OK,first off I'm not agreeing with this anon guy. But this episode did not WOW me. With three minutes left I was waiting for a jaw dropper and all I got was another parachuter. Eh? It felt like a 'to be continued' Facts of Life episode and not the 'OMG I've just been shatted on' feeling that the last 6 episodes of season 3 gave me. Honestly, this episode could have existed without the Hurley-centric-ness. The greatness of second-half season 3 wasn't just that the plot moved like a magnetic train, but that each episode was a complete story in itself. Tonight's was just a picking up where the finale left off. It had no identity. It wasn't 'The Brig' or 'Greatest Hits' it was just Season 3 finale Part III. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Lost with a passion, and probably why I'm being so critical, but for all the hype tonight left me wanting more. Well, I guess there's always next Thursday...

Jimmy said...

Well...

I haven't seen it yet :( I skim read some of the posts, as to not get spoiled. I got WAY too much happening to be able to have sat down and watched it comfortably. Kind of bummed, but hopefully iTunes will have it up quick tomorrow (else the Dharmalars will be "scoreless").
Fuck, it's going to be a long day!!!

mb said...

Well, as with Cloverfield, I wanted more (....that's your cue Ally). I liked what I saw and couldn't believe the hour was up already. So, I guess that means it must have been at least pretty good since I lost track of time.

Agreed, Jorge threw down, good stuff. Big throat lump when he told Claire. And I loved his mojo when he grabbed the walkie from Sawyer, threw it into the ocean and said "We'd better get going". I like pissed off Hurley.

Other favorite items had to be the cabin, and creepy-ass Lance Reddick coming to see Hurley in the institution. THAT is a storyline I'm already loving - it looks like "the 6" may be clamming up to protect their...friends? Not sure who he meant (nor are we meant to, I imagine) when he asked "Are they still alive"? (...shudder...)
I think that scene creeped me out more than the cabin.

Anyhow - I liked it, just wish it could have been 2 hours.

mb said...

Ah the wonders of HD...

Was just re-watching the scene with Hurley in the police interrogation room. I had assumed it was Charlie swimming up to the window, but it's kinda creepy cause his hood is over his head and you can't see his face.

Charlie (I assume) puts his hand up to the glass and for like 2 frames you can see that he's got "They need you" written on his hand (in the same black ink as the "not Penny's boat" message) just b4 the glass smashes. Charlie, of course repeats this later verbally.

Do we think that Charlie is referring to the other 5 who got off, or people back on the island?

hmmmm

mb said...

who can beat Ally to the TWSS in that last post?

Jordan said...

Lance Reddick is the man. Anybody who knows him from The Wire of Oz already knows this already.

Speaking of Oz, with this dude that makes 3 former Oz inmates on Lost. This guy, Eko, and Michael. What, do Lost producers when in need of a black actor just pop in the Oz dvds? lol.

mb said...

If that scene is typical of Mr. Reddick, then I am WAY psyched to see more of that storyline.

Meant to say in the last posts - it occurred to me that the window in the interrogation room turned into a "looking glass" which Charlie smashed through. Of course there's the idea that Charlie is smashing through the barrier from the afterlife to communicate with Hurley, but it must be something a little more right? since Hurley's inmate could also see Charlie?

It just seems like another reference to crossing over into other realities. So many things that have to do with that island do not seem to be of this world.

Jordan said...

"If that scene is typical of Mr. Reddick, then I am WAY psyched to see more of that storyline."

Yes, it is very typical of him. The dude is very intense.

Anonymous said...

I loved Ben's smart assed request to join Locke's group. I like him better when he's been taken prisoner.

What are the six lying about? Jack told kate last season he was sick of lying. And now Jack is worried since hurley is crazy again he will tell somebody something. Are they just protecting the secrecy of the island or what?

Can't wait to find out.

Stephanie said...

After sleeping on it, how dies Jack get from this flash-forward to season 3 finale flash-forward? What happens in the meantime? Does Lance Reddick visit him repeatedly until he goes nuts?
I understand why some folks are feeling a little disappointed. I've had that experience. I guess sometimes I've expected more or different from an episode than what I got.

Stephanie said...

How does is what I meant.

Anonymous said...

I am glad that one of my thoughts from the season 3 finale was confirmed: The people in the pharmacy that treated Jack like a celebrity were doing so because of the Oceanic stuff, not the car crash. And when Dr. Hamil says he's a hero "twice over" he is referencing the car crash and the plane crash.

Anonymous said...

Palmer, I can't see your avatar...

memphish said...

I read this on another site, but I like it. What if crazy bearded Jack starts seeing Christian off Island like Hurley saw Charlie? That plus the booze and pills is enough to drive anyone to jump.

I think it's interesting that the pressure to keep the secret seems to solely from within the Oceanic 6, not from whoever rescued them. My first thought when Hurley freaked was that he saw someone who was making him keep the secret, but what he saw was his guilt.

I too can't wait to see how Hurley ends back up with Jack and what he meant about being wrong to go with Locke. We've all got to remember that we've got 47 more episodes in all, not just 7 or less. The negative takes I've been hearing all seem to want everything wrapped up all ready. While I do want to know, I don't want to know yet too.

So who would you go with Jack or Locke?

Holli

memphish said...

oops. Omitted the word comes (TWSS).

It should read "the pressure to keep the secret comes solely from within the Oceanic 6."

Also, I'm guessing Jack willingly put himself out there as the hero of the 6 so that Kate could elude capture. I'm not even sure if she'll be one of the 6 and not just a smuggled 7th. People still recognize Jack at the coffee shop, but apparently not Hurley at the convenience store.

Stephanie said...

Hmmm. Who would I go with?
Good question. I believe I would take my chances with the freighter people and go with Jack. Getting off the island would be my top priority. The freighter people would be your only hope even though I do believe Ben is telling the truth.
Official vidcast over at ABC.com: the making of the "They Need You" scene.
Why did Kate sneak the phone from Jack?

Ralph- said...

the reason this show felt different, was because it didnt really raise any questions, with the exception of who are the other 3 of the Oceanic 6 (unless there was more, and hurley was just talking crazy). who knows, maybe Jack wasnt even there to hang out with Hurley.

Ralph- said...

I like John's plan, but i trust Jack's instinct a bit more... At this point in the game I choose Sawyer's "every man for himself", until i knew what was up.

memphish said...

I'd probably stay with Jack (and Desmond) because Locke's claim never to have done anything to hurt them was so laughable. Also Rose is a pretty wise lady. If she thinks Locke is a nut, he probably is.

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah, not being Penny's people would be ok with me if i could get off the island. unless i was rose or locke. cuz that whole "being healed" thing is pretty sweet.

that said, i'd be ready to whup some Freighty ass just in case.

Anonymous said...

We all know who is aboard the freighter, don't we? Well, the spoiler free folks don't.

And what about the Oceanic 6. I've known who they are for months, but back then I didn't give a crap because I had no idea what they were talking about. Now my mind is blown.

[ally] said...

I've never really trusted Locke's judgement either, so I'd probably go with Jack. Locke has Gob's track record, as in, he does something and later he realizes it was a huge mistake.

andrew. said...

- The haunted cabin seems to be the green-room for all of the ghosts that haunt the island. I wouldn't be surprised if that was Mikhail's eye or if we see Yemi & Anthony Cooper playing Tidiliwinks in the corner. (okay, i'd be mildly shocked to see 2 ghosts playing Tidiliwinks)

- What do we make of Naomi?
* If she's some evil baddie trying to get to the island to kill everyone, why did she lie to protect them?
* She was dying, it's not like she was afraid of what Kate might do to her.
* Was she afraid that she might tip the losties off before the freighter folk could infiltrate?
* Did she have a change of heart because the Losties were good to her?
* Where was she headed when she crawled away?
* Did anyone else get the sense that Jack/Kate/Rousseau were all treating her like a threat when they went looking for her? Like assuming that she would set a fake trail. They should have just thought that she was helping them get rescued when crazy ol' Locke knifed her.

- On the other mental patient seeing Charlie, i'm going to go with the old hollywood trope of all crazies being tuned into hidden truths that we 'sane' people deny to ourselves. Maybe the island is broadcasting visions to Hurley on the CooCoo frequency.

- I haven't watched OZ yet (have it at home now, but there's actual TV to watch!) so the 'Oceanic' guy that visits Hurley in the mental institution is known to me as Lt. Daniels from The Wire. He's a great actor, so don't write him off as a one note character like the Heroes Haitian. He could easily turn out to be the head baddie for the season, like a manipulative Ben.

- i really liked the episode. It accomplished a lot. I think everyone is a little put off by the fact that it didn't feel like a season opener because it really did seem to pick up right where the finale left off. We're used to our world getting turned upside down a bit more and then spending the 1st part of a season getting reoriented. If they didn't have the 'snake in the mailbox' scene at the end of last season and learning Hurley was off the island was the opening tag before the Lost logo, it would have been more on par with other season openers.

-Feeling a little burned by Battlestar Galactica on the 'Final 5' thing, i hope they either resolve quickly or downplay the whole 'Oceanic 6' thing, but considering how well all of the tag lines for Heroes worked, i suspect our beloved promo department is going to have a field day with it.

-Lost is back! and all of the Lost podcasts will be back too! Hooray!

andrew. said...

grrr. Kate. i know you tried to be vague with your spoilerish comment, but you gave me a pretty good guess for what to expect.

Man - it is AWESOME to have major Lost discussion back on the board :)
(not that I don't also love BS'ing as well)

RE: what Ralph said about the episode not raising questions - I have to disagree. Indeed you do have the question of who are the other 3 Oceanic 6, but also
- what secret are they keeping? Why is it so debilitating to Jack and Hurley? This was raised in Throught the Looking Glass but now we know it's not just Jack - makes the question much bigger.
- who does Matthew Abbadon (Lance Reddick represent)? Is it the Freighter people?
- Is Charlie dead and appearing as a ghost or something else since he is seen by Hurley's inmate?
- Who was in the cabin? It looked like Christian Sheppard in the chair and and then there was the person who popped up in the window in front of Hurley. What the Hell?
- How will Hurley go from deciding to go with Locke, to regretting he did so. And how is Jack's trust that the Freighter people are alright NOT remain a liability to everyone's safety in the end?
- Why does Charlie tell Hurley that "They need you"?

I'm sure I'll think of more - but basically I thought that this episode did nothing BUT set up questions and begin new storylines. I guess that's why I wanted so much more than 1 hour (....Ally?) - but isn't that always the case every week with this show.

mb said...

wow I hadn't read Andrews post before I finished mine - good questions

Jordan said...

I get the disappointment some are relating on here, but I don't see it myself. I thought the episode was great. Nothing that is going to knock you on your ass and throw you down the stairs. But a very good start to this new era of Lost.

I see where people are coming from though. Admit it, people on here are Lost addicts. It's like you took a crack head and locked him in a room with no crack for 8 months. Then you let him out just to give him the slightest taste, but that's it. "I NEED MORE BITCH!!!" It's tough to take. I'm sure all of us could've sat there and watched for 4 hours. But the fact that it was a normal lengthed episode doesn't take anything away from the show for me.

The other thing I think a certain faction of people out there are having issues with is they thought that because season 3 ended with characters off the island, that meant that all the island mysteries would be explained and revealed fairly soon and have their place taken by the post-island questions. That ain't going to happen folks. As long as we have on-island story going on, we still have all the unanswered mysteries. The off-island stuff just means we got double the please, double the fun now. Just a word of advice. But with this show, NEVER expect to get too much in terms of gigantic, earth-shattering reveals or you will constantly be uber let down. Just enjoy the ride.

As for the Jack/Locke debate. I don't know who I would've gone with. It's a tough one. On one hand, Jack's choice has a greater ultimate gain. But it also is a greater risk. I know a lot of people would be concerned with nothing but getting off. (twss) But after 3 months on insano island, I wouldn't be surprised by anything at that point. And if there were a group of people who were of the mindset after Charlie's warning to go off and feel the situation out a bit more, I just go that way. Who knows though? Maybe I'd be so desperate and insane by then, that I'd just go running to the freighter?

I find the whole Jack/Locke thing to be extremely interesting. And I find it somewhat amusing how people can be so on one side or the other. To me these guys are the exact same character, just on different extremes. One wants to get off the island, thinks it's the right thing to do, and doesn't give a shit about anybody else's thoughts along the way. The other doesn't want to leave, doesn't think it's the right thing to do, and doesn't care about what people think along the way. Both have a very obvious agenda. Both feel the need to take charge of the situation. Neither could give a rip what anybody else thinks regarding the situation. It all comes down to the "Man of Faith, Man of Science" thing. IMO both guys have nothing but good intentions (yes, even Locke). And I don't think Locke said that he never hurt anybody, but that he never did anything TO hurt anybody. To me, despite their very opposite courses of action, Dr. Jack and Captain Locke are one in the same.

methinks that Lawyer ScaryDude must be trying to get to the Island to exploit it or whatnot. and maybe the Oceanic Six (not to be confused with the Bionic Six) covered for everybody else who decided to stay on the Island?

and Claire and Turnip Head are supposed to get onto a helicopter. right?

mb said...

Yeah - I totally agree Jordan. It all goes back to that "Man of Science, Man of Faith" dialogue the two of them had way back.

And while we have all been wanting to kick Locke's ass for blowing shit up, I do think that he was trying to protect everyone. I think he somehow knew that there was this danger coming to the island, and that he had to try and protect it by severing ties to the outside world. He has a closer relationship with the island, it seems, than anyone else including Ben, and he does feel, like Ben, that trying to get off the island with the Freighties and letting them onto the island is bad. And frankly, by the looks of Hurley and Jack in the future, it seems like he might be right.

- Kate, didn't mean to single you out. i was reading Aint-It-Cool's summary of the episode after i watched it, and at the bottom of the thing they had a list of all of the episodes and who's flashback it was. I read the 1st one with Hurly's name next to it, realized what it was and went screaming from the room (that's a warning to fellow Aint-It-Cool readers)
* with the future flash thing. i'm afraid that each flashback is going to reveal who got off the island, and i definitely want to be surprised about that.
* i'm going to resist posting my guess about who is on the freighter because i don't want to know if i'm right.

- Jordan - very apt crack metaphor.

- if the Oceanic 6 are known to the public, what's the story? It would have to jive with the fact that Oceanic Airlines pulled up a plane of dead folks. Did they invent some media story about finding a raft of 6 'survivors' miraculously beating the elements to get back to civilization?

- i think going with Locke is probably the better move, and he really does have everyone's best interests at heart but in the situation i would have definitely gone with Jack. 1st you don't go with the dude that showed up to knife the woman calling for rescue. Also, i don't think the show sold the warning from Charlie very well. The teary eyed reunion with the beach crew & hikers was lovely and all, but the beach crew should have been breathlessly warning them that the boat was a threat.
I feel like Locke should have been selling everyone on the idea of the island & what it had to offer. Instead he just sort of said 'you can get rescued but you're getting rescued by bad guys.'

-Tough love for Lost.

kate, I don't think anyone is hatin'. Don't be a lurker, be a poster. It's nice to return to those days of having 20+ extremely long posts to read with each visit to the blogspot. I wish I were home so I could rewatch. I think I knew at one time who the Oceanic 6 were but I consciencely forgot.

Perfectly good episode.

When it was revealed that the series would continue with a mix of flashbacks and flashforwards, I was wondering how they were going to be able to signpost to the viewing audience beforehand which one it was going to be, and yet before Hugo stepped out of the car I knew where we were at.

Remember that this is the first episode expressly designed for us to KNOW that it's a flashforward from the start, and so TPTB are probably just letting us get used to that fact instead of going mental on us. Note that the biggest questions were now in the off-island stuff. This is a whole new way of presenting LOST so both we and they are gonna have to take some time to get used to how it's done.

They've at least established a timeline for Jack's beard, but I'm still not sure how this will work - people are coming to take (some of) them and so they'll leave. But... will that leave us with a load of Island stuff without the 6 in? Will we have the exploits of these guys in the future while cutting back to different characters on the island? I'm not even sure I'm describing my questions very well - what I do know is that I'm ready to wait and see.

We're used to Hurley episodes being at least quite fun, so to have one that's so upsetting already unnerves the die-hard audience. i reckon this episode will weather very well, especially as more follow (that ending was a bit flat though).

Jorge is clearly this show's Alyson Hannigan - if he cries, the audience cry.

As for Jacob's chair, remember who was sat in it, or at least seemed to be, on that season 4 promo trailer that came out a few weeks back.

The real question will be whether flashbacks will ever be interesting again from here on in. Guess it depends whose we get.

WOOF! I LIKE MEAT!

Completely OT. Has everyone seen the Sarah Silverman video? Hilarious.

Chris JC said...

Do you reckon the really spoiler free folks will refuse to watch the flashforward episodes? ;)

Anonymous said...

That silverman video is off the hook hilarious.

mb said...

Hey Jordan and Jimmy - Elizabeth Mitchell (in a TV interview) says she lives in Seattle - keep an eye out and a camera near! :)

SEMI-WARNING: She mentions a vague piece or two of forward-looking info (very vague)

Stephanie said...

Is Silverman being blatantly offensive in the video?

mb said...

Just to make sure - is this the video?

Here's the video.

Great episode - so happy that it was Hurley-centric. The FF was infinitely better than the last 3 Hurley FBs. Stroke of genius to bring Charlie back so soon.

I like Holli's theory that Jack starts to see his dead father between this episode and the season 3 finale FF. They set up his drinking here when he's watching the chase on TV.

"I like John's plan, but i trust Jack's instinct a bit more..." - Locke is my favourite character but it's best to stick with Jack if you want off-island. Except Hurley leaves...oh, now I'm confused.

PalmerEldritch said...

i wonder if Locke'll be all "hey, guys, let me show you this wacky supernatural cabin filled with jars of urine" and if that's what will make Hugo change his mind.

has Eli Stone been canceled yet?

please?

Those commercials were brutal. All 36 of them. Ugh.

[ally] said...

Yeah those commercials were starting to get to me, too. Its like, ok we get it!

Kate I'd also like to go on the record to say, don't feel bad. We've all said stuff that we've been kicked over the head for, but we all survived and are here still.

Don't hate. Participate.

anyone seen these?

Those are cool.

At first Eli Stone looked interesting to me. Then I realized the show is "Christplotation"- something for the religious folk, without the religion. Kinda like that angel show.

t-dot kim said...

Eli Stone was horrible!

YaY!!!! LOST is back bitches! MB, I agree that I would have liked it to be 2 hours instead of 1.

Who else jumped when the "eye" popped up. I screamed.

PalmerEldritch said...

"I agree that I would have liked it to be 2 hours instead of 1."

thats what she said

PalmerEldritch said...

anyone know how to make spoiler tags on the Scott and Steve BBS? just made a spoiler thread for Forward Thinkers like MB so i wouldn't have to read them and then realized that if i go to the "10 Most Recent Posts" that i could accidentally read a recently posted spoiler. ack!

t-dot kim said...

KABLAMO! I really liked this episode. I'm also very interested to see who the O6 are. I have no clue who they could be. I'd like to see Michael and Sayid episodes--if they get off the island. But does this mean we'll only get flashforwards from now on? If so, I'd like to see some from survivors who stayed on the island.

PalmerEldritch said...

i think we're getting a mix of flashbacks and flashforwards.

p.s. how's canada today?

memphish said...

The word from Darlton is a mix though there will probably be a lot more FFs than FBs. We still need at least 1 more Ben FB and of course the crazy French Chick.

/Looking forward to Dharmalars and TLI

Palmer - I don't know what the best solution to posting on the BBS about spoilers. I looked through the help topics but didn't see a way to exclude posts from a specific thread from the "10 most recent" list.

There IS always the SPLOG - totally separate site/page and built for spoilerage.

P, Canada (this part of Canada) is under an offical storm watch. The traffic girl braved it in to work to tell everyone to stay home every 10 minutes on the 9s.

The snow has stopped, but we're now dealing with aftermath. We're supposed to get even more snow...another 8-12 inches overnight (TWSS, I know, I know)

Wonder why everyone's names were listed in the credits, even those not in the episode. For example John Terry, Harold Perrineau, Fisher Stephens.

Stephanie said...

Check out my and Chris' .

memphish said...

Steph, Both John Terry and Fischer Stevens were in the episode. You just had to know where to find them. As for Harold, all regular cast members are credited for all shows whether they appear in them or not.

Holli

Chris JC said...

Agreed - the "main" cast get put in at the start, regardless of whether they were in or not. I'm an inveterate credit watcher (which is why Walt's reappearance last season wasn't super surprising).

I believe Steph was pimping the Cue the Film podcast (not affiliated with the Cue the Music podcast), that she and I do with some other excitable chaps.

Download it for tons more Fisher Stevens chat!

mb said...

Whoa - I totally missed that you guys are doing a podcast. I'm so on that (TWSS) - subscribing today. Sweet!

Chris JC said...

We're getting exponentially better. If we keep up the same amount of improvement as shown between episodes 1 and 2, then the third episode will probably bring about world peace.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: don't listen to episode 1.

For some reason, I'm louder than everyone else :D

Emily said...

Would it be to much of a spoiler to say that we will get flashbacks and flash forwards in this episode (And, at least Ia am not disappointed in the characters that will get flashbacks)

Yes! Fisher Stevens was on the radio! I kept telling steph and others he was in lost. Maybe we will actually get the chance to see him

And ugh..was I the only one completely freaked out by Matthew Abbadon? Even his last name (which means hell, or satin) just screams at me "EVILLLL"

Oh and by the way, I think this is my first post on the Scott and Steve blog. Hey, I'm Emily....hows it going? lol

Emily said...

Ps: Am I the only one who caught Jacob? Does that look a little somthing....like....Jack's dad?

[ally] said...

"For some reason, I'm louder than everyone else"

that's what she said.

[ally] said...

are you the emily from the 3 heroes podcast?

if so, then cool!

if not, then nice to meet you anyway.

:)

Emily said...

Yes, and the one Chris is talking about lol

Chris JC said...

Everyone, meet Emily from the 3 Heroes Podcast.

Emily from the 3 Heroes Podcast, this is everyone.

Is "Abaddon" the least subtle name LOST has ever saddled a character with?

He may as well be called Mister S. A. Tann.

Chris JC said...

Also - shag my eyes right out of their sockets - it's nearly 2:30am over here in the future!

Time for bed!

Emily said...

I found the fact that it was so in your face hilarious. Its like the producers crowded around us pointing, screaming "EVIL!" as they laughed at us.

Its not much better then how clear they have made it look like the "Not Penny's boat people" will screw us all.

Although, I think thats what I loved about it. There screaming at you, "Look, look at this thing...something terrible is coming"

I'll bet anyone a penny we will see Mathew again.Oh, and maybe another penny that Jack's dad is Jacob. And maybe another penny that Jacob and the Monster are arch rivals lol.

Anyway, Chirs, shouldn't you got o bed?

And futurereality, nice to meet you hehe

Oya and Elias noted Jacks drinking.. being the drunk blogger and all I thought this my kinda of topic..Jack had a full glass of OJ and ice Then put just a splash of (expensive looking) Vodka in it So i determin they havent been back very long..Beard O' Jack in the end of L S 3 was drinking the cheap stuff (from the look of his sink) and i don't think he had any clean glasses to drink out of..That was the same apartment I think thats kinda cool..He needs to go by some maps though.

not sure if anyone mentioned this, what in my opinion has to be the best line on the show EVER

"You don't wait with warnings dude, you warn."
