So I've never called the Dharmaline before, mainly because I'd find it weird saying 'Hi Lars...' because that's my dad's name. Although, I am tempted to call during the holidays so I can put him on the phone and ask him to introduce himself.

Ya know, just for fun. Whatever. Off to bed, and then listen to your 'cast when I'm supposed to be preparing for my presentation on Friday. Yay.

Chris JC said...

Lars down the pipe in time for a long train trip today.

Excellent timing, chaps - sorry that it wasn't the preview you wished for, but I'm just as interested.

Stephanie said...

Dadgumit! I left my iPod chord at work yesterday and can't load the podcast. I have to wait until afternoon to get the DVD Preview. This is tortuous.

memphish said...

Looking forward to the podcast.

Hubby asks me what I'm doing today. Answer - watching LOST. Yeah, I feel a litle bit guilty about it, but not too much.

CBS f***s up Dr. Eyeliner's show. Imagine if this happened on LOST. The wrath of Smokey would be unleashed.

Finally, find your holiday drink. It says mine is a Tom Collins. I can live with that.

PalmerEldritch said...

looks like mine would be a Daiquiri.

i choose not to describe it as a Girl Drink and instead to describe it as a Boat Drink.

/girl drink drunk

Anonymous said...

A Merlot from Sideways.

memphish said...

Sideways focused on Pinot Noir, not Merlot. I think we found a bug in the drink selector.

Holli (wine snobbery evident despite not like the movie Sideways)

OMG Ralph you totally have to post every one of those all access things including good quips from Kimmel and theorists.

Or if someone wants to try to find these Blu Ray extras on Dark UFO and post links for me, I'd appreciate it, especially Emerson and Ben's house.

Holli (lazy)

PalmerEldritch said...

was that a High Def kablamo?!

[ally] said...

I saw that big mess up with Cane. The one time I sat there and watched commercials! LOL. That was worst than when they show you things in the previews, cause at least in the previews you might forget, but in the commercial right before the scene? Not easily forgettable.

Evangeline Lilly dissed the promo makers in her commentary about how they showed Sawyer and Kate running after "I Do" and way before airing "Not in Portland."

i wanted to play some sound clips but whenever i grab sound clips i use my dvd player on my computer to rip the audio. the main problem with getting those sound clips is that my computer does not have a blu-ray player. i would have to feed my playstation into my camcorder then upload that video onto my computer then rip the audio, convert it and drop it into the show... it would be easier to wait for youtube to deal with that for us.

PalmerEldritch said...

ralph, download the Uncharted demo.

andrew. said...

- Holiday Drink = Cranberry Juice ala 'Departed'

- a friend told me that he didn't find The Kids In The Hall funny. i had to reassess that friendship a little. 'girl drink drunk' is funny as hell.

- when i went to Dark UFO to get the latest mobisode (not going to abc.com out of solidarity for the writers) i ended up getting spoiled for some season 4 stuff. That place is dangerous.

- btw: there are rumors that the LOST powers-that-be ony want 6 of the 8 completed episodes to air because there's a natural story break at the end of ep. 6. This strike is like a clown car of bad news.

Ralph- said...

Uncharted is a lot of fun. the demo doesnt do it justice. there is a lot more cliff hanging and danger in the actual game...... going to go play right now!!

PalmerEldritch said...

"This strike is like a clown car of bad news."

andrew, that may be the quote of the thread.

ralph, you have uncharted?! what else? i'm hoping to get some more games for christmas.

Ralph- said...

I have:
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
A Christmas Story
Crank
LOST
Ratatouille

Those HDMI cables rock the house!!!

The Souffle was nice, Elias. It's like the French/edgy version of Breakfast at Tiffany's which is one of my favorites. I love the look, especially the American girl's hairdo.
Today, company Christmas Party: food, Elvis impersonator, and $25 Walmart giftcard. Should I exchange it for iTunes credit or buy a proper DVD?

i just watched the last, completed "Pushing Daisies." it was awesome as usual, and certainly no way to end a series. i certainly hope the strike doesn't end up ending my favorite new show.

Stephanie said...

Pushing Daisies nominated for Golden Globe Best TV Comedy or Musical. As is 30 Rock.

Stephanie said...

ralph-, You can't expect Foxy to do commentaries for Lost. He put in his Lost time during season one. These days he's off being Superstar. In what, I don't know because We Are Marshall wasn't such a hit and nothing else he's done is out yet.

Stephanie said...

Stevi buys ralph- a ps3 with her Christmas bonus and I get a $25 giftcard? I hate my job.

PalmerEldritch said...

you guys get christmas bonuses? :(

Jimmy said...

We gat a $25 gift voucher at a local supermarket, as I work at a non profit...

Some of my friends in the private sector get $800 around Xmas...I feel sorry for them, personally.

memphish said...

My husband's practice gives the employees Christmas bonuses at the Christmas party which he is attending right now without me as thankfully spouses are not invited. In the software company I worked for we got year-end bonuses. Same at the law firm. You had to endure a performance review to get it though. We also wasted a huge amount of money at both places on Christmas parties. No one parties like a bunch of drunk lawyers.

Mike Campbell said...

Did anyone pick up the Juno soundtrack and listen to the "amazing" voices of Ellen Page and Michael Cera?

Stephanie said...

That settles it, Mike Campbell. I'll use my Christmas bonus on the Juno soundtrack. Hopefully I'll get to see the movie. Another film I want to see is Atonement and No Country for Old Men and the fighting, talking polar bears of The Golden Compass. Whatever you do, don't see Southland Tales. It stinks.

Is this the third attempt to restart Knight Rider? Off the top of my head I've got

Knight Rider 2010 (with the Knight Industries Four Thousand.... KIFT!?)

Knight Rider... 2097? (or is it just Wipeout that has a 2097?)

Team Knight Rider.

So, y'know, good luck to em.

It shouldn't be a muscle car, though. The voice of Will Arnett!? Will he go uncredited like Daniels did?

memphish said...

How can we complain to Blogger about this nonsense. It looks like crap. (I chose the shorter word to express Chris's notion of rubbish. I think it also more clearly says what it looks like.)

When I lived on Okinawa $25 could get you so much malt liquor that you'd need an IV the next day. Happened to one of the docs Hubby worked with. (In fact it only took about $5 to do achieve. You could get a case of Bud for about $5. Gotta love the military.)

i did indeed send the gal pal the link to the AD deal. :)

memphish said...

An entire year to wrap up ER, please. Just shut down the damn hospital due to lack of funding and be done with it. Or put it in a snowglobe. No one remembers that anymore right?

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

that snowglobe puts into question a crapload of shows thanks to the various crossovers on network tv. i've heard that even Family Matters is part of the St. Elsewhere-verse due to crossovers.

[ally] said...

the rules of regifting.

Trevor McFur said...

Holy crap, if ER ended in a snowglobe, in my mind that would make up for the fact that it's been crap for something like 10 years now.

St. Elsewhere is the best series not yet available on DVD (except for the subpar season 1, which has been out for more than a year).

OK, so we're all geeks here in regards to Lost. If you ever think that you might be getting a little too geeky about the show, check out The Tommy Westphall Hypothesis

Trevor McFur said...

Whoops, Palmer beat me to the punch. But I've got the link. Go about 2/3 of the way down and click the "Tommy Westphall -- A Multiverse Explored" PDF link ... that one takes you through the looking glass.

PalmerEldritch said...
This comment has been removed by the author.
PalmerEldritch said...

heheheheheh. i was just about to link to the TWENTY TWO PAGE PDF of the Fontana-verse. 282 television shows connected to St. Elsewhere through crossovers and spinoffs. and none of it's real even in it's own universe. how do you like that?!

Trevor McFur said...

Not that I'm gonna read that thing, but a quick glance somehow connects Star Trek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Heroes, and the Adam West Batman to St. Elsewhere. And wasn't there some car rental company used in Heroes last year as a shout-out to Lost (I kind of remember a few of J&J's listeners getting excited about it ... maybe it's in the grid somewhere). So that means that Lost is ALL IN THE MIND OF TOMMY WESTPHALL. Holy crap!

- It's Tommy Westphall's dream, we're just living it.
- Thanks to this thread i'm $30 poorer but infinitely richer. (i should be x-mas shopping for other people!)
- i really liked the theory i heard on Jay & Jack that every 108 minutes on the island = 1 day off the island.
= 13 1/3 days (off-island) per day (on-island)
= roughly a little more than 1 year (off-island) per month (on-island).

USA Today is reporting LOST is going to air Thursdays at 9 pm starting Jan. 31.

Holli

[ally] said...

Jan. 31st? 2008? 2009? What will they be airing? New episodes?

wow, that's a lot of questions. Almost as many as Lost itself brings.

I'm off to the party now, I'll talk to y'all later.

memphish said...

All 8 completed episodes starting Jan. 31 2008. Which is Grey's Anatomy's timeslot which I'd bet means ABC isn't planning on settling the strike anytime soon.

Holli

Anonymous said...

stevi rocks. nice choice with the ps3 or the xplode-box.

Anonymous said...

if the producers of lost on want to air 6 episodes and think that is best, i am with them. abc doesnt care about continuity or story telling. as fans, being greedy for lost episodes at the expense of storytelling is not the right choice imho.

mb said...

Holli -
Thanks for the 5 mins. of Cloverfield

I think I'm going to have to use the little movie time I have in '08 to see that and Dark Knight. I THINK those are the ones that I want to see on a humongoid-ass screen - everything else is rentable.

Chris JC said...

Bugger my eyes, I'm quite excited about Cloverfield. That helped, despite barely showing anything new.

It's a weird one - among a certain area of internet types (that would be us, kids) it's already very famous and highly anticipated, and yet - considering it's out in Just Over A Month, nobody else seems to have heard of it. Quite unusual.

Cool as it would be to keep it this hush hush nerd-of-mouth phenomenon, that's not really good business sense, so expect some shit hot marketing soon. (although most likely first couple of weeks of January).

Not sure when the UK release date is, although the 18th is a Thursday so it's not unlikely it could go worldwide.

Oh...

UK: 1 February 2008

Thanks, world. Looks like I'd better not turn my computer on for about two weeks then.

(slightly peeved now - how soon I turn).

memphish said...

LA Times article about S4 airing on Thurs. and just 8. DL and CC quoted. No spoilers.

PalmerEldritch said...

well, with there being no new Offices until who-knows-when, i guess a Thursday night at 9 time slot is OK with me.

Anonymous said...

Holli's article makes it sound like we're going to be dealing with a bunch of Lost hate in the media and on the internet in the coming months. People HATE when the show sets future stuff up with more questions. And from the sounds of it, that's all the first 8 episodes are.
