Holli, regarding your post from the last thread. Not to kill your buzz. But I recently read this regarding both those shows. I don't see that as much of a show of faith from ABC.
Yeah, I'd seen that before Jordan. That's why it surprised me to see Castle get what I consider a pretty good time slot. If Nathan Fillion can't keep all those women who watch dancing tuned in he really isn't earning his keep anyway.
I've got news for JJ Abrams. If you fail to create characters I like or can relate to then your show will fail even with a dead simple premise. This summarizes why Fringe is failing for me.
For me Fringe is my X-Files style fix. I wasn't completly invested in Mulder or Skully in the first season but grew more and more curious as the show progressed.
Since Heroes let me down and True Blood is over and Lost isn't back yet this is all the good T.V. I can look foreward to.
Oops. I forgot I'm watching Supernatural season 1 so that also helps. Thanks Steph.
he's a horror novelist who fights crime! but he's not stephen king. no, it's somebody CASTLE. which has nothing to do with a king. at all.
fringe doesn't have likable characters? you dont like Walter? have you no heart? ;)
hey, we're getting freakishly close to new LOST. right? only a few months left?
blargh.
watching some LOST on monday nights on SciFi. i remember thinking that i had been disappointed in season two but i really like the bits and pieces that i see that dont have Ana Lucia.
good grief. she was an annoying character. what a sour puss.
"hey, ana lucia." "hi, mom." "you killed a guy." "am i gunna need a lawyer?" "yes. because i want to help you and am amazingly unaffected by the fact that you JUST KILLED SOMEONE." "you're being nice to me even though i JUST KILLED SOMEONE? fine, mom-boss, i quit! i'm working in an airport until some weird old guy gets drunk enough to pick me up in a bar!" "ok. i wont bother ever following up on the fact that you JUST KILLED SOMEONE. bye."
I may be the only Lost fan in the world that really liked season 2. To me it opened up the whole mythology and got the show going in the direction that has kept it interesting for me. Not to mention some of my favorite podcasts started in season 2.
As for spoilers; I try to avoid spoiler sites and things like that, but personally don't consider the official ABC previews spoilers, but that's just me. I can understand why you may want to avoid them.
It's not Mr. Bill who doesn't like Walter; it's me. And it's not that I dislike him, it's just that I don't care about him or Peter or Broyles or Massive Dynamic lady. There's only 1 person I have a strong opinion on and that's Olivia -- I dislike her intensely. And not in an I love to hate her way, but in a way that I just don't care if she lives or dies or solves the mystery or finds love, but if you wanted to hurt her along the way to try to straighten out her accent, I wouldn't object.
That LOST footage is everywhere. I still haven't watched, but I have seen this image, not spoilery and want to ask -- Who TF did Kate's hair? She looks like she should be wearing love beads and be on her way to sell flowers in Haight Asbury.
actually, she looked nice with straightened hair and angela from the office outfits at her trial last season. so, maybe she should get back to that look?
- I'm with you Jon. I'm a big supporter of Season 2 of LOST. I've said it many times on here before but the finale of Season 1 was a huge let down and the introduction of D.H.A.R.M.A. was the saving throw.
- i like a good hippie chick but that actually looks like Kate's water got turned off mid shower.
- I don't understand why Fringe thinks I care at all about Massive Dynamics or Olivia's ex.
I thought season two was pretty awesome. Lockdown, anyone? Hatches, Triple A, Bernard and Henry Gale.
I get Darkufo's spoilers in my inbox every morning. Since I'm not excited for season 5 right now, it's easy to delete without even reading them. Who knows? Tomorrow I might start reading them.
Mr Bill, Morgan and I have started at the beginning again with Supernatural. Skin has to be my favorite of season one. I could watch that one over and over. It's funny. I'm watching the entire series over as a Sammy Fan Girl this time.
hello. recently discovered your podcast. love the dharmalars very much. listen to all podcasts in a week! hope to see new ones soon. ps, the main page for your blog is sort of confusing with no dharmalars logos on the title. love the new lost promo. cant wait!
by the way. my name is aiden. im a big time lost fan. duh. and i am also a big fan of jay and jack. and now the dharmalars. im a huge jater. so please be kind skaters. hehe.
ally, i think you're right. month and a half or so left. looking forward to it (obviously). will hopefully be posting about Prison Break on the BBS soon. watching monday's episode right now.
oh! aiden, did you check out The Lost Initiative with Kim and Aimee?
Michael Bluth: So this is the magic trick, huh? George Oscar 'Gob' Bluth: Illusion, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money... [sees children watching his magic] George Oscar 'Gob' Bluth: ...or candy!
Which is kinda lame when you think about it. The whole point was Gob was trying to cover up his comment after realizing the kids heard him. But he actually made it worse. In the tv version, him saying candy negates the joke of Gob being so oblivious.
On June 24, 2008, Moranis declined to come out of retirement to join the other cast members of Ghostbusters in the production of a new video game based on the films.
- cool to see that video game is still in production. It seems like just a month ago that it had been dead in the water despite orginally having a Sept 08 release date.
- Pushing Daisies was good tonight. The mystery was sort of tacked on, but the show itself unveiled a bunch of intriguing plot threads just in time to leave them dangling.
I started not to even waste my time watching PD because I'm so upset over it being canceled but nothing else was on. Highlights: Olive's boobs in the camera the entire episode, the "I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion" lady who looks like a witch to me, the plastic bed device w/ arm sleeve, Olive running, Olive singing. The time felt right for a song. That show makes me so happy. Another show that makes me happy is FNL. Those fans without Direct TV will be completely satisfied in the new year when the show comes back to NBC.
Nice to see a couple of new faces - please note than in the off season it slows down a lot and there are only a few hardcore hangers on talking about whatever crosses their mind. Once the season starts and the podcasts crank up proper again, this place will go mental.
More of you guys should have Amazon Wish Lists - I only found one so far.
Speaking of Wish Lists - purely on Steph's continued insistence about the series, I've put Supernatural seasons 1-3 in mine. Nobody will buy it, but I use Wish Lists as a reminder rather than a request.
took my daytime cold medicine (i think i'm coming down with a cold) and then noticed that it was night time cold medicine. went back to the medicine cabinet and confirmed that i'd grabbed the pills from the correct box but that someone had filled the day time cold medicine box with night time cold medicine.
OMG Palmer! That nighttime stuff leaves me messed up all day when I take it properly. You may need a coffee IV. Kiddo's had a cold since Saturday, and I'm afraid I'm getting it now too. Post-nasal drip, you suck!
After launching a low yield attemtp to find decent pictures of my old secondary school, I have instead found this lovely story, written in a very confusing style:
- Palmer is starring in Crank 2. Chev Chelios mixes up his meds on the very morning that every mobbed up lunatic in town is trying to kill him. He's got to do whatever it takes to stay awake and avoid getting knocked off, but it's not going to be easy. This film features new villains Tryptophanna the comfort food dominatrix, and Nick Drake's ghost.
- my wish list. I just realized that i probably suck to shop for.
- The Sun probably had a field day with the Plaxico Burress story.
- I checked out the first 2 episodes of The IT Crowd last night. I couldn't get beyond it being such a traditional sitcom, with a laugh track even.
- I added Ultraviolet (the series. I love you Mila but you owe me for watching part of that movie) to my Netflix queue after listening to the sucky Confessions Of An Internet podcast. Thanks for the recommendation.
meant to say earlier - re: the Jon Favreau series 'Dinner For 5' that you and Steph discussed - if you haven't already found out, it was indeed cancelled from IFC (Independent Film Channel) here in the US. Why, I don't know, as it seemed to be the channel's highest rated show at the time. The few episodes I caught, I liked.
HOWEVER - it apparently (according to that Wikipedia page) is still on ITV4 in the UK, so perhaps you can still enjoy it Chris?
I don't read The Sun, obviously, but I happened to catch the website today. I reckon they probably didn't care about Plaxico Burres as it wasn't about illegal immigrants, teenagers with knives, "gypies" or semi nude ladies.
Wow - my recommendations have been taken up on? Erk. Hope you like it, Andrew!
IT Crowd - not a laugh track, but an actual audience, like used to be done. Although obviously location stuff is played in to the audience.
Just discovered that Netflix "presented" a new episode of Dinner for 5 in February with Peter 'A Christmas Story' Billingsly, Justin Long, Keir O'Donnel, and Vince Vaughn (possibly to promote Vince Vaughn's "Wild West Comedy Show"). Looks like in was a one-off.
Hey Steph and Chris, Very good podcast. and I'm curious about the show Skins and Ultraviolet. I watched Torchwood and it was ok just not what I thought it would be, being a Dr. Who fan.
I have the complete series of Dinner for Five and I love it and I'll send it to anyone who asks if you like, just let me know via email with appropriate info.
The episode that mb spoke of came out after the "complete" edition dvd release...Ratz.
Let me second Mr. Bill's praise of the most recent CIA podcast (since I rudely neglected to say it in my last post) :)
Actually just listened to the last two CIA's - both excellent. I must subscribe to Der Geek.
Also, Chris - finally listened to the CTF 'Documentaries' episode of CTF. Right on for the shout out re: our thus-far-ill-fated-but-destined-to-succeed -thru-the-force-of-our-will Doctor Who episode. getting it done in time for the xmas special sounds fantastic - lets begin the scheduling negotiations (me being the difficult one as b4) :)
mb, I was just wondering who I could beg next. When are you available? What do you want to talk about? I don't really have anything in mind at the moment.
Chris, thanks again (I think) for the GNR disc ... I don't hate it nearly as much as you do. I think that I just find it to be entirely ... mediocre, I guess. And instantly forgettable. As an aside, Axl's voice, which was always kind of unusual, hasn't really aged all that well.
Going to see the Blue Man Group in January. Not in Philly, but in Reading, PA, a small town about 45 minutes to the west (and about 5 minutes from where we actually live. But I can't help but wonder if the Blue Men that come to Reading are the 'real' Blue Men, or just some understudies. Hmmmm....
Here's my Amazon wishlist. Which I use more as a queue for books that I'm going to get out from the library, since the local library's website doesn't save books that you want to get out.
I'm dying to watch the "meets bigfoot" episodes I can't find them anywhere and the last time I saw them I must have been 9 or 10 years old. I remember being sooo scared and facinated at the same time.
Ever since the Ross and Brand incident, where people complained after hearing that something had happened, rather than having heard the offending item, we've been drowning in a tide of overblown moral outrage.
John Barrowman, somewhat egged on by people interviewing him, took out his penis ON THE RADIO. No pictures were taken, there was no webcam. All that was broadcast was the sound of a man apparently taking his penis out. So of course there were complaints, and APOLOGIES from the broadcaster. Sigh.
As for Marsha/Julia Deakin - if you mean the woman at the far right, I rather suspect that it's actually Jane McDonald, a star created by reality TV in 1998 who is still a household name.
In theory, yes, but Barrowman is being dragged out onto talk shows to explain himself and the number of people who complained during the show is never enough these days as very dull people with nothing else to do tend to complain when they hear ABOUT it, and will probably go on about how the presenters and the producer who allowed it to happen should all lose their jobs, etc. Oh - and most of them think it happened on television.
It's the knee jerk reaction idiots that annoy me, not what actually happened.
I've looked into it further and will now present evidence to support my theory. One complaint during the show, but the number of complaints is now at least 95. Here is the story from the Daily Mail's website, and the readers of said paper:
There are, at time of writing, 382 comments to that. The Mail also have a page dedicated to Barrowman's TWO public apologies on the subject. Number of comments: 0
Oliver Stone called our press "the worst in the world" after the outrage about Natural Born Killers - but we have far fewer equivalent television news shows, where opinion is often given precedence over fact. Although I think our tabloid press may indeed even be worse than that.
The Sun (and The News of the World - basically The Sun on a Sunday) were particularly notable in the paedophile witchhunt that saw suspects having their contact details published in the paper, bringing about the tide of public feeling, and misinformed paranoia that caused a crowd to harrass...
Alirio, great PauseCast. Very funny. I think I've been having twitter conversations with your almost wife. Is she @fatchickpea? I'm afraid Twitter is going to start charging for memberships. What will I do?
Got my $5 HDMI cables and damn my TV looks better than ever. Amazing the amount of extra color I'm getting. Thanks for the Monoprice site everyone who suggested it.
Rick used to be on Days of Our Lives. I want to say he was Eric Brady, the role previously held by Jensen Ackles. Oh my. I can bring anything back to Supernatural.
I watched the original The Day The Earth Stood Still this weekend. It's special effects are, in a word, awful and the moral of the story overt and overbearing. Anyone know how much the remake resembles the original? I can't decide if it's even worth sticking in my queue much less going to the theater for.
Herlihy - I went as it was my mother in law's 70th birthday and that's where she lives. Like much of the area it used to be a mining toen, but now it's shut down it seems to be an in-town shopping precinct connected by a fairly busy road to an out of town shopping complex around a man-made lake. Weird place. And in the small villages, 14 year old on bicycles rule the night.
I've seen little talk (if any) of Zack & Miri on here. Did anyone like it, or did they find it mildly amusing but no great shakes (like me).
Justin Long was probably the best thing in that film.
I think the thing that sets it apart from other Smith fare is the sheer number of times that the word (with apologies to sensitive Blogspotters) "cunt" shows up in the dialogue.
Oh, and Jason Mewes' penis.
All in all, it's amusing and cute, but I actually preferred Jersey Girl.
i'm pretty sure that The Day The Earth Stood Still will be good only for special effects and for hoping that Jennifer Connelly gets rescued by Jareth the Goblin King.
the 'Lars are safely a few hours north. still that's pretty awful that a friggin jet fell out of the sky and took out two houses. scary stuff. hope everyone's OK.
did we ever hear from robert about getting his roof repaired after the hurricane?
ladies (and perhaps some of the gentlemen), i present Josh Holloway without a shirt. sadly, the closest thing us guys (and some girls) get in return is shirtless Bai Ling. ack!
VALENTINE, Neb. (AP) — A man dubbed the "Butt Bandit" for making greasy imprints of his nether parts on windows in the north-central Nebraska city of Valentine has been sentenced to more than a year in jail. Cherry County Attorney Eric Scott says police caught 35-year-old Thomas Larvie in the act on Nov. 19.
Scott says Larvie was sentenced Thursday to 13 1/2 months in jail after being convicted of eight misdemeanor counts of public indecency and one of disturbing the peace.
Authorities said Larvie used lotion or petroleum jelly to make imprints of his naked behind — and sometimes his groin — on the windows of stores, churches and schools in Valentine beginning in the spring of 2007.
Townspeople dubbed the vandal the "Butt Bandit" even though no theft was involved.

What? You're not excited to see the Wolverine movie?
i assume that that's the guy playing Gambit?
Also, the scene from the LOST S5 premiere totally got my juices flowing.
I'm avoiding the S5 scenes, so please discuss on the Splog not here. Thanks.
I wasn't going to discuss them. I was just mentioning how excited they made me for season 5...
tisk tisk.
Holli
I would also like to say how awesome the season 5 clip was...
I will not spoil people
I stayed spoiler-free last season and hated the inadvertent spoilings....
I've got news for JJ Abrams. If you fail to create characters I like or can relate to then your show will fail even with a dead simple premise. This summarizes why Fringe is failing for me.
Holli
For me Fringe is my X-Files style fix. I wasn't completly invested in Mulder or Skully in the first season but grew more and more curious as the show progressed.
Since Heroes let me down and True Blood is over and Lost isn't back yet this is all the good T.V. I can look foreward to.
Oops. I forgot I'm watching Supernatural season 1 so that also helps. Thanks Steph.
he's a horror novelist who fights crime! but he's not stephen king. no, it's somebody CASTLE. which has nothing to do with a king. at all.
fringe doesn't have likable characters? you dont like Walter? have you no heart? ;)
hey, we're getting freakishly close to new LOST. right? only a few months left?
blargh.
watching some LOST on monday nights on SciFi. i remember thinking that i had been disappointed in season two but i really like the bits and pieces that i see that dont have Ana Lucia.

oops
kablamo!
so, i should probably check out this preview thing. right?
or would i lose my spoiler-free street cred?
you'd totally lose spoiler free cred.
and also man points.
hmmm...
well, i have plenty of Man Cred to spare ever since i ate a Sloppy Joe and Bacon sandwich...
That LOST footage is everywhere. I still haven't watched, but I have seen this image, not spoilery and want to ask -- Who TF did Kate's hair? She looks like she should be wearing love beads and be on her way to sell flowers in Haight Asbury.
Holli
kate needs a makeover.
actually, she looked nice with straightened hair and angela from the office outfits at her trial last season. so, maybe she should get back to that look?
oh. and at least its not a wig.
- I'm with you Jon. I'm a big supporter of Season 2 of LOST. I've said it many times on here before but the finale of Season 1 was a huge let down and the introduction of D.H.A.R.M.A. was the saving throw.

You've nailed it on the head Andrew. Kate looks like she's suffering just like these guys.
Holli
the Eko stuff in season two was pretty great. new hatches, triple A, etc.
its just the AnaLucia stuff that was awful.
also, season two gave us Bernard!
which is a good thing cuz Bernard is the man.
I thought season two was pretty awesome. Lockdown, anyone? Hatches, Triple A, Bernard and Henry Gale.

Bonjour!
Namaste Bitches!
New PauseCast up ...
I'm hanging out at Sonic for dinner before going to class. Nothing like a cheeseburger before working out.
Palmer, did you say a few months before new Lost? Isn't like a month and a halfish? I'm so ready for whenever they decide to show it.
1151 hours : 31 minutes : 16 seconds till LOST. ish.

Kablamo!!!
Welcome Aiden.
I'm starting to get a little excited now for Lost.
I'm at the studio now. I feel like taking a nap instead of working out. Talking to some girls about tricks. Sheesh!
Aren't tricks what whores do for money?
...or cocaine.
Michael Bluth: So this is the magic trick, huh?
George Oscar 'Gob' Bluth: Illusion, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money...
[sees children watching his magic]
George Oscar 'Gob' Bluth: ...or candy!
sorry, jordan.
That's the tv version Palmer. If you watched the uncut extended pilot on the dvd, he says cocaine. Ah-ha!
Which is kinda lame when you think about it. The whole point was Gob was trying to cover up his comment after realizing the kids heard him. But he actually made it worse. In the tv version, him saying candy negates the joke of Gob being so oblivious.
Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids.
Wait, that didn't sound right...
LOL
touche!!!
but i like candy better cuz he thinks its just the drugs thing that would be inappropriate for kids not the whole whoring thing.
but either works.
You are totally right. They both work.
I wonder if Rick Moranis will show up? What is he doing now? Why am I asking questions I can easily google?
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
I'm on board.
On June 24, 2008, Moranis declined to come out of retirement to join the other cast members of Ghostbusters in the production of a new video game based on the films.
Aww Ratz.

- Pushing Daisies was good tonight. The mystery was sort of tacked on, but the show itself unveiled a bunch of intriguing plot threads just in time to leave them dangling.
I heard on a podcast that Rick Moranis has retired from acting. And that he did so a couple years ago, shortly after his wife died.
I started not to even waste my time watching PD because I'm so upset over it being canceled but nothing else was on. anyone started planning their "Welcome Back, LOST" parties yet?
You can start those Welcome Back LOST parties a week early with the 3 hour S4 finale airing on Jan 14th per Dark UFO.

You're assignment for today: Show the blogpost your amazon wish list.
Here's mine!
Kindly note:
Loads of Doctor Who stuff
The occasional Region 1 DVD
Stuff that I've put in for a laugh.
I'm not being stalkery in looking for Amazon lists, but generous. The person whose list I found will work out who they are in just a few days.
My wish list. Feel free to get me anything except for the iPod Touch. Mom's already got that taken care of.
Probably best to take it off again, then. You know hoe rich and generous all us Blogspot types are!
Also - that's the link to "Your Own" wishlist (ie, when I put it in, it takes me to my one, not yours.
Trying to find yours now for the proper link.
Voila!

After launching a low yield attemtp to find decent pictures of my old secondary school, I have instead found this lovely story, written in a very confusing style:
"Girl, 15, torched by love rival"
Pah, we don't need guns when we have premeditation on this scale.
In fact - one look at The Sun's home page today and you can see why we'd rather perpetuate this idea that we're quaint and aloof. Check it out:
Rememberence service for toddler who died after suffering over 50 injuries
Eighth anniversary of ten year old boy stabbed to death in my old home town
Teen rapper jailed for killing someone who insulted him
Idiot from Manchester put video of him loading guns onto YouTube - now doing five years
Parents of murder victims say "killers should die in prison"
Speeding coach driver crashes, killing three while making a safety announcement
18 year old girl stabbed in street
Actress whose brother was stabbed to death praises boyfriend's new film about stabbings
Main jailed for knowingly infecting a woman with hepatitis B
Jail for teenagers who put a concrete block on a railway line
Three stabbed at music awards
Teenage thugs jailed for beating up a man until he was unrecognisable
etc etc
Did I mention The Sun's a bit right wing and preoccupied with a certain kind of lurid news story?
Even so though: bloody hell!
Hey peeps.
just checked and to my suprise I DO have an Amazon Giftlist. how about that :)
mostly Doctor Who DVDs - surprise surprise. I'd better make this list common knowledge amongst the family :)

Terminator Salvation looks an aweful lot like Transformers. Christian Bale is much better looking than Shia though.
Hey Steph and Chris,
Very good podcast. and I'm curious about the show Skins and Ultraviolet.
Right on for the shout out re: our thus-far-ill-fated-but-destined-to-succeed -thru-the-force-of-our-will Doctor Who episode. getting it done in time for the xmas special sounds fantastic - lets begin the scheduling negotiations (me being the difficult one as b4) :)
and I have not forgotten about your invitation for CIA Steph (if it still stands)...
mb, I was just wondering who I could beg next. When are you available? What do you want to talk about? I don't really have anything in mind at the moment.
If I have the blogspot's approval, I'm satisfied.
I also want to tell Alirio, good job.
At least you have the ketchup flavored chips in Canada.
I'm looking for them here in the states.
Thanks Mr. Bill!
I do what I can... I must say I loved Ketchup chips when I was younger and we had an abundance of Maple Leaf brand Ketchup chips around.
Now all we have are Humpty-Dumpty and Lays brand Ketchup chips... not as tangy :-(
Hey blogspot, what's happening?
Hmm, let's try that again:
Wish List.
I forgot my Wishlist it is lame.
No list the contains the Six-Million Dollar Man could ever be lame.
LOL
I'm dying to watch the "meets bigfoot" episodes I can't find them anywhere and the last time I saw them I must have been 9 or 10 years old. I remember being sooo scared and facinated at the same time.
Bryan Fuller might be returning to Heroes.
I read it was a done deal with Bryan Fuller, that he is writing the final three episodes of the season.
Here it is.
still no chance that Tim Kring is gone though, eh?
i'm not sure whether or not if this is spoilery or not.
i don't think so... but... i've been wrong before.
Time to take up a blogspot collection.

Chris, what did John Barrowman do?
Chris, is that Marsha?
Nevermind. He exposed himself. And people compained?
"Fruit and Nuts"
One complaint. ONE complaint and a grovelling apology from Barrowman AND the BBC. I'm completely appalled by this. How pathetic have we become?
umm... the dude didnt get fired or anything. one person complained so he apologized.
sounds like the situation is over. right?
Outrage! (with a side order of reasonable)
There are, at time of writing, 382 comments to that. The Mail also have a page dedicated to Barrowman's TWO public apologies on the subject. Number of comments: 0
How much of a difference would it make if you didn't have the media fanning the flames? I say you but it's just the same here.
youz guys suck at kablammos.
Well, you suck at posting only once.
Oh Snap!
Good one Steph.
LMAO
Oliver Stone called our press "the worst in the world" after the outrage about Natural Born Killers - but we have far fewer equivalent television news shows, where opinion is often given precedence over fact. Although I think our tabloid press may indeed even be worse than that.
The Sun (and The News of the World - basically The Sun on a Sunday) were particularly notable in the paedophile witchhunt that saw suspects having their contact details published in the paper, bringing about the tide of public feeling, and misinformed paranoia that caused a crowd to harrass...
UK guys know where I'm going here...
A paediatrician.
Of course, truth being what it is, the events of this case have also been misreported and inflated (including right now, by me - probably).
But still, it warranted comment in Herlihy's favourite Monkey Dust sketch, The Paedofinder General.
whhhaaaaaaazzzzzuuuuupp!
How's the Cricket Ralph?
WHOO!
Monkey Dust reference.
YAY.
pfft. if the Cricket Blog is any indication...yikes. I think that i am gonna start shopping around Casualty Friday instead.
My husband has been waiting years to see this. Yeah he's a grumpy old man.
Holli
Hahaha. I love it.
Hey, it's legal. That's what those idiots get for having their hair like that.
/grumpy old man in training
ralph-, keep at it. We have faith in you.
Holli, the dreds bother me too.
Alirio, great PauseCast. Very funny. I think I've been having twitter conversations with your almost wife. Is she @fatchickpea?
I'm afraid Twitter is going to start charging for memberships. What will I do?
Who says that about Twitter Steph? I know my solution will be to go back to email and blogger.
Holli
Maybe it was just a rumor. Or rumour.
Thanks Steph!
Yup, that's my almost wife you've been twittering.
Will be recording a new PauseCast featuring Canada's most closely guarded secret.
I will be driving over 14 hours to Jay & Jack's 25-hour PodCast in March.
Is anyone else here planning on going?
What's wrong with dreadlocks? I think they look ace. I've had dreadlocks before... they're a bloody pain to get out though :/
Dreadlocks in general are fine. They just look like a disaster waiting to happen on the football field.
Yeah. It's obnoxious.
This really creeped me out.
Wierd
holy fuck.
that is some creepy shit.
i think i saw at least part of that show as a kid but sure as hell dont remember that scene.

Andy Rooney with tips how to save money.

I realize I just linked 3 video clips. But if you only watch one, YOU MUST WATCH THIS ONE!
Get that lady a role in the next Michael bay movie.
This years Dick in a box
Apparently this is the first single from the The Dude's debut album "Incredibad" due 2/10/09 according to the Lonely Island website.
Got my $5 HDMI cables and damn my TV looks better than ever. Amazing the amount of extra color I'm getting. Thanks for the Monoprice site everyone who suggested it.

Do you have questions about "Lost"?
Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by all that has happened on and off the island?
Have you ever peed yourself, trying to hard to figure it all out?
(ok, maybe, that ones just me...), but...
Feel good knowing that we're not alone...
What the hell is going on?
I nominate this for the next post.
Holli
that's a pretty funny song and its good to see Jorma but...

i hope that "Just 2 Guyz" and "Ka-Blamo!" are on the album.
and, now, for a maternity ward with a Hello Kitty theme.

heheheheh.
Rick used to be on Days of Our Lives. I want to say he was Eric Brady, the role previously held by Jensen Ackles. Oh my. I can bring anything back to Supernatural.
Big sale on LOST DVDs on Amazon
Today only, you can get all 3 DVD boxsets for seasons 1-3 for $58.99
that is quite the nice deal. already have 'em though.
but they'd certainly make a nice gift for someone else.
I watched the original The Day The Earth Stood Still this weekend. It's special effects are, in a word, awful and the moral of the story overt and overbearing. Anyone know how much the remake resembles the original? I can't decide if it's even worth sticking in my queue much less going to the theater for.
Holli
I will see the new TDTESS for Jon Hamm only. And maybe a little bit for Keanu. Eventually. I'm not rushing out to see it.
I'm back, chaps.
I've sampled Zack and Miri. I didn't get to the actual porno making but Brandon Routh and Justin Long were impressive. I'll finish it eventually.
Question for the podcast:
Who are the most underappreciated actors?
Justin Long was probably the best thing in that film.
I think the thing that sets it apart from other Smith fare is the sheer number of times that the word (with apologies to sensitive Blogspotters) "cunt" shows up in the dialogue.
Oh, and Jason Mewes' penis.
All in all, it's amusing and cute, but I actually preferred Jersey Girl.
i'm pretty sure that The Day The Earth Stood Still will be good only for special effects and for hoping that Jennifer Connelly gets rescued by Jareth the Goblin King.
Plane crash in San Diego!!
Here
I hope the Lars are ok!
the 'Lars are safely a few hours north. still that's pretty awful that a friggin jet fell out of the sky and took out two houses. scary stuff. hope everyone's OK.
did we ever hear from robert about getting his roof repaired after the hurricane?
ladies (and perhaps some of the gentlemen), i present Josh Holloway without a shirt. sadly, the closest thing us guys (and some girls) get in return is shirtless Bai Ling. ack!
In more LOST news -- today is Boone and Charlie's birthdays. Well the actors.
I thought about Sawyer this afternoon as I watched a movie that would probably have been more enjoyable had I not seen The Long Con several times.
Holli
What was the movie, Holli? Cool Hand Luke?
House of Games. Its 80s feathered hair and giant shoulder-padded suits for the female lead were also very distracting.
Holli
I hear it's good. I started watching once online but couldn't get past the 80's hair.
Baby News From the Island.
Should she leave the Island, or can you give birth safely on Oahu?
Holli
Oh, I thought they were from San Deigo.
Still hope no one got hurt.
Twitter just informed me that 3 people have died as a result of the crash in San Diego.
that's awful.
everybody checked out the new Dharma Special Access thing? and the tease at the end? very teeny, tiny spoilers.
also, the free Namaste ring tone is wholly unimpressive.
dharma special access.
the substitute for the uber-lame ARG.
'Butt Bandit' gets 13 months in jail
Townspeople dubbed the vandal the "Butt Bandit" even though no theft was involved.
and i would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddlings kids!!!
/zoinks!
- jinkies!
Ruh roh, Raggy!
Over here, or course, that would be a "bum bandit". But then, that's something else entirely.
I want another big cooked breakfast, but I can't really justify it now that I'm back home.
It's been a while, so here's a decorated cupcake link.
