Thanks! I thought all I would have to look forward to now was sleep. You just capped my weekend.

Deep Purple fan thanking you big. With this and Highway Star appearing on Alirio's Pausecast, I'm having happy year.

Awesome! And on time this week too! What did us fans do to be so spoiled? Thanks girls.

One thing. I do not get why people like Chris JC get so excited each week and comment on the playlist. Besides the opening song, I can barely hear a thing. Seems pointless to me with how quiet it is.

I am glad I was not the only one to notice that Aimee barked last week. lol!

Chris JC said...

I'm just pleased at the inclusion. Anything else is purely subconscious.

Also, Seeing as how you record on ustream. In the future, will you offer a downloadable vidcast?

- i really like the notion that Kate blabbing about the island to anyone who would listen has terrible consequences. Especially when she shared that information with a con artist. I feel that the island needs a better hook than 'good for what ails ya' though, because that Australian cure-all spot that Rose & Bernard visited wasn't exaclty crawling with tourists. Time travel would be a pretty big draw though

I don't know where Easter Monday came from, but it may be my favorite "holiday." A day that the kid has off and yet we have no family obligations (after 3 long days of family obligations) and the weather isn't nice enough to feel guilty about staying in PJs and watching cartoons all day. I love you Easter Monday.

if they do like a 2025 version of the island with aaron and yi jeon i think they should cast the role of 32 year old Walt as the dude that played Lamont on Sanford & Son. of course he too old now but wouldve been perfect

Alirio said...

Well hello...

mb said...

I said this in the last thread...

RE: What lies in the shadow of the statue?

THE DONKEY WHEEL

the well that Locke went down into was directly behind the statue. So, I'm assuming Ilana's question to Frank means that she knows about the donkey wheel (i.e. it was just a 'password' question), which would support Herlihy's idea (which I agree with), that they are part of a reconstituted Dharma Initiative. That would also be in line with the lame-ass ARG from Comic-Con and the focus on the DI this season.

still listening...

Easter Monday is the greatest thing ever. I didn't have to set the alarm clock. Didn't have to make a lunch. All I had to do was pour cereal. It's wonderful Oh, and new TLI!

mb said...

Now that's two people talking about Easter Monday?!? I was unaware of this holiday.

I guess I've never had a job that celebrated Easter Monday. Wish I did.

memphish said...

Guess we've found a benefit of living in the South. If I weren't so lazy, I'd try to find out the origins of Easter Monday. It has no theological basis, so my guess is lazy bankers.

Chris JC said...

It is one of our "bank holidays" which seems to be what we have instead of public holidays, predicated as we are on a financial centre.

Stephanie said...

We used to get Good Friday off of school. But now Easter Monday is an inclement weather day that we didn't have to use.

memphish said...

We got both off.

Why. Because he is black and looks nothing like Walt?

Chris JC said...

That seems to be most fan's criterion for anything regarding an adult version of Walt.

t-dot kim said...

Easter Monday use to be awesome--that meant only 2-3 weeks left of the school year for me when I was in university. Now, it just means I get paid time and half for coming into work :P

BTW, did anyone watch Southland last week. Wondering if it's worth while watching on the DVR.

Trenton:
Awesome! And on time this week too!...I do not get why people get so excited each week and comment on the playlist. I can barely hear a thing. Seems pointless to me with how quiet it is.

Thanks for the backhanded compliments, but it's the same time I've posted the podcast for the past 4 weeks (give or take 30 mins)...As for the music, it's there because it does add some ambiance to the podcast. It's for ppl who WANT to know what's being played. It makes a difference, believe it or not.

Also, Seeing as how you record on ustream. In the future, will you offer a downloadable vidcast?

We don't record on ustream. We broadcast our video on ustream AS we record our audio podcast in GarageBand. We will not be doing a vidcast.

na I actually thought they looked somewhat similar like in the eyes. and I want to see Walt with a mustache.

I need a date! Quick! Who can be in Seattle on the 24th? Palmer?

Baconopolis! Friday, April 24th 6-8pm
Join us in the Palace Ballroom for bacon's biggest social event ever- Baconopolis! Who doesn't love bacon? Even some vegetarians indulge in the occasional bacon treat because you just can't beat the smoky deliciousness of bacon! By attending Baconopolis!, you'll get the opportunity to taste 5 bacons from different producers side by side, and sample creative bacon dishes such as braised bacon "pork and beans", classic bacon carbonara, and butterscotch bacon bits. Don't miss this sensational bacon event.

And you thought we liked bacon a lot.

Jordan said...

Oh, and to comment on the blogspot topics de jour.

Easter Monday. Never heard of it. Odd to me that people in the south celebrate it. Seeing as the Brits do, it makes sense for Canadians to as they are basically "England Jr" when it comes to bank holidays.

Sanford & Son guy looks like Walt? And it's apparently the common consensus amongst Lost fans? Uh, I got disagree on that one & side with the annoying guy who was complaining about Kim's podcast. I looked up photos of the two as I couldn't see the connection in my mind, and Whaaaat?!
?! Just my opinion here. But y'all are some racist honkies if you think that. Might as well have George Takei should play an old Jin.

Need to watch the new episode of Break Bad, badly!

Jordan said...

Break = Breaking. Dur.

Chris JC said...

Here ya go, Kyle.

Jordan, I didn't mean that, I was echoing that weird recurring style of LOST theory that almost every black character must either be Walt from the future, or somehow related.

Jordan said...

Oh, and I wasn't really calling anyone racist (well not Chris at least). Just don't see the resemblance. And us white people have a really bad reputation for saying people of other races all look the same. And it's sad when bad stereotypes are proven true.

And for the Zoe Bell fans on the blog. Anybody seen this online series, Angel of Death? Haven't watched it, so I don't know if it's any good. But it looks interesting and features Bell being bad ass, so there ya go.

Kyle from Kentucky said...

something crazy would have to happen to even see aaron or walt on the island again. i think Locke's convo with him pretty much wrapped up Walts story which is sad but that's what I took from it. maybe Aaron comes back with his grandma to look for his mother. Yi Jeon? I don't know but it probably won't happen at least this season.

Who complained about Kim's podcast?

Kyle from Kentucky said...

I'm racist for thinking that Demond Wilson shares a similar look to MDK? Sheesh touchy. No wonder racism is such a problem still.

I was thinking that because I watched the S3 finale last night and when Walt appeared to John over the pit his hair wasn't as well groomed as it was when he was younger. Like they made it look messier and it was stickin out and it was similar to Lamont's semi fro at the time.

Jordan said...

Walt
Lamont

Older Lamont

Sorry. I just don't see the resemblance.

And the racist honkey comment was a joke and said very tongue in cheek. For someone who takes such pride in being bombastic and "keeping it real", you sure get defensive a lot dude. Maybe you should stick to taking veiled pot shots at people in your calls, and just leave it at that.

Racists?!?! Blogspot?!?! I'm feeling a "Why can't we call just get along" quote coming on.

The one thing I HATE about posting online is reading sarcasm. Basically...because you can't. I think we need a symbol to indicate when we're being sarcastic or tongue in cheek :P and when we're being serious :|

And seriously, what's the deal with BACON? It's like crack to you guys. I understand it smells good, it tastes good (in moderation), but a weekend dedicated to Bacon--in Seattle of all places. LOL! Awesome.

My 15 year old sister got dumped by her boyfriend today by text. She's distraught.

Meh. it happened to me three years ago. I'm so ahead of the times.

Chris JC said...

Has anyone been dumped via Twitter yet? Surely it's the new standard.

Also - condolences to your sister.

scrdmnkydst said...

Meh, she's 15, she'll be fine.

I don't know about Twitter... But David Van Day dumped his girlfriend on live TV

Chris JC said...

True, but he's long been a known wanker.

And has presumably been a wanker long before it was total public knowledge.

Jordan said...

I do agree about sarcasm being hard to read online. However, I also subscribe to the opinion that it is possible. The main key is to not be in an overly serious frame of mind. If someone is defensive and overly on guard, they will find a way to read ANYTHING, even the most obviously jovial comment, as the insult of all insults. I myself honestly don't see how anyone can read, "y'all some racist honkies" given the context as a reply to an innocent casting suggestion. Then again, I am probably flippant to a fault. :P (Ah! sorry, I promised to be done with that.)

I think it all comes down to sense of humor. I find if you share enough (not necessarily all) with someone in terms of sense of humor, that it's really not that hard to read sarcasm online. The few people I've encountered where I've had this issue (myself mis-reading their sarcasm and vise versa), I've noticed I just flat out don't speak the same language as them, period. And that kind of miscommunication is not exclusive to text chatting. I would have the same issue with them in conversation. But back to sense of humor being the basis of miscommunication. If one person laughs at a show like 30 Rock, and another person laughs at Two & a Half Men. Guess what, they don't think on the same wavelength. Especially in terms of humor. And they're going to not see eye to eye, period. Texting or talking.

This is obviously a subjective topic. Both in terms of the topic itself, as well as one's thoughts to it. I myself find communication to be a fascinating subject. So sorry if I'm boring anyone. :P

Jordan said...

I remember it used to be the ultimate insult to dump someone via answering machine. But now with our society (unfortunately) so ingrained into social networking, Twitter and Facebook/Myspace dumping has got to happen. Considering two things. One, how detached we've become in our day to day human interactions. Texting and IM'ing has taken away so much of the responsibility in one's words. People do not have to deal with any type of recourse to their words if they do not wish to. And secondly, considering the scorned and spiteful heart. Break ups are often messy and bitter. And what better way to "get back" and your ex than making it embarrassingly public. Sad, stupid world we live in.

Jordan said...

Has anyone here seen Adventureland? It's getting a lot of good buzz. Apparently it is not the Apatow wannabe, simply stupid comedy that the marketing wants the average stupid viewer to think.

scrdmnkydst said...

I was once dumped by a text from the guy's friend... That was horrible. Since then he's dropped out of uni twice, been arrested for trafficking class A drugs and is now homeless.

Serves him right.

Jordan said...

If he only hadn't sent that text.

Chris JC said...

That's a weird grasp of cause and effect.

scrdmnkydst said...

I like to think he went in a massive downward spiral because of the lack of my influence in his life.

Chris JC said...

I know I would.

My grammar would become appalling.

scrdmnkydst said...

Meh, my grammar online is horrific. I tend not to bother too much. I have an tendency to use ellipses too much and not bother with capitals.

But yeah, that guys's a twat.

Chris JC said...

You also use the word "alot", which doesn't exist.

But really, that's enough of that already.

scrdmnkydst said...

Language is fluid though, Mr. Watch! Especially the English language, which is really the most fluid and malleable language ever. Just look at the additions to the Oxford English Dictionary, the words "meh" and "chav" have been added in recent years.

Chris JC said...

Aye.

JonFromNKY said...

I leave the blogspot for 12 hours and you people are talking about racism, bacon, being dumped by social networking tools, and God knows what else.

So help me, I'll turn this blog around right now and you kids won't ever go to Disneyland!

scrdmnkydst said...

...Wouldn't Disney World be closer to you, if you're in Kentucky?

Stephanie said...

I want to see Adventureland and Observe and Report. Will wait for DVD.

Stephanie said...

Zoe Bell is no actress. But I guess her acting ability isn't what you're watching her in a web series for.

Kyle from Kentucky said...

ah my bad Jordan. when you said I'm not calling anyone a racist (Chris at least) or whatever I took that as a backhanded comment. That's one bad thing about blogs you don't really get to know people personally.

I got Ralph to call me a vagina with a capital V! now if I could just get Jorge to come to one of my post LOST wednesday night parties my lost fandom would be complete.

Jordan said...

Oh no worries. It was a very simplistic exchange of words, that honestly never should have gone beyond a couple flippant remarks. Or given much notice. It's done. Who gives a shit.

One thing though. I disagree (SURPRISE, EH? lol.) about not being able to get to know people on blogs. It just takes time. I take great pride in getting to know more than a few of the people on this blog over the past couple years. Many of who I consider to be good friends and/or acquaintances. It just takes time to learn people. Some more than others. I can think of a couple people on here who I did not exactly get at first, but who have grown on me and who I've learned to enjoy their company. It is the internet afterall, and everyone is not going to love everyone else. But I definitely think you can get to know people in such a setting as this place. I've said it a million times before. Lost talk isn't the main reason I've continued to frequent this blog over the years. For the most part, there's some really good folks.

Kyle from Kentucky said...

hey go to LOST vegas 2010. Hope I can meet a shitload of new LOST fans when this thing happens.

Only thing about that is - I'm not this kind of guy at all - but there's almost no way I can keep from crying at some point during the series finale. Especially if the final scene is very similar to the final scene of season 1 where they were boarding the plane and O815 (giacchino) was playing. I'll lose it.

Jordan said...

Isabel, better known as "The Sheriff" on Lost was on Heroes tonight. She was previously on a few ep's of Pushing Daisies. Fuller keeps bringing them in. As for the show, it's getting better. Not sure how much. But it's much more focused than in the past.

Stephanie said...

I skipped Heroes last night for the first time ever. It's on the DVR. I might watch it.
