Holy crap - FIRST!
I never added to the podcasting argument.
The only time it's ever rubbed me up the wrong way is the podcast of professional broadcaster Martin Kelner who has recently started wanting money from customers for them to actually receive the podcast (about $2 a week) which is vastly different from selling some T-shirts or requesting a donation.
I don't podcast, but the thing you don't know about me is that for about five years I've been in a semi professional band and since 2005 we've racked up over 200 playings on radio (mostly on BBC national radio), have appeared on a compilation album (available in normal high street record stores) and have had two singles out - one a download single (which has sold pretty well), one on vinyl (not sold quite as well but had a lot of radio play) and have another download single coming soon. We have also had one of our tracks used as backing music on a programme aired on national television network Channel 4.
Despite all this, ever since our first radio play in 2005, I personally (we're a three piece) have made the equivalent of about $200, every penny of which is taxable and none of which has been spent on anything other than webspace, stationery, envelopes and stuff.
This rock n' roll lifestyle is clearly all glitz.
Perhaps I should ask you all to buy my single? But then what can I offer? Never again mentioning Doctor Who?

elias, any guesses as to who Peter Stormare might play on Lost? I recall reading that the Lost producers were casting a new actor to play Jacob. Maybe it's this guy. I was looking at the screencap of Jacob again and he's got a high forehead, just like Stormare. And since we know there's some funky non-aging going on, and that Jacob was dressed rather old fashioned, maybe casting an actor with a European accent means Jacob is/was a European explorer, captain of the Black Rock, marooned on Lost island, trapped in an insane time rut, "Help me!" he says.

If anyone read my comment above, which I since deleted, sorry. I may have over-reacted. If Lost can boil my emotions like that, and it's only August 3, I can't imagine what I'll be like on January 3. The waiting may indeed kill me.
Steph - one at a time is usually quicker but you can do two or three. check options/ speed guide/ check if port is forwarded properly. also do the speed test. you could try different maximum upload speed settings - they say it should be set to 80% of your upload speed.
in prefernces uncheck UPnP port mapping and uncheck randomize port. the other two boxes are checked on mine.
let me know if any of this doesnt work.

she just thinks that a Collected Trade Paperback it too much for her to handle. she seemed to like the story, but i think it would suit her better in a monthly comic book format. she is a speed reader so i think the pictures actually slows down the pace she is custom to . so she is taking it slow.

Okay, let me come out of hiding one more time to set the record straight:
1. Ben, you were making a weird ass humming noise until around umm 2 or 3am when I woke up for like a second & you were mumbling something. Ralph probably just couldn't hear it from the floor. ;) Don't feel bad though, because Clif was making this really strange breathing noise that sounded like he was somewhere between a REALLY good dream & an asthma attack.

From the sounds of it, you guys should have left a mic on during the night @ comic con. You could've put out a joint Dharmalars/Jay&Jack/Metrobuzz "Night Sounds of Comic Con '07" podcast. I'm sure it would have been a hit. Probably would've been the next Blair Witch Project or something.

Holy crap Jordan - never heard those 2 choruses back to back. That's hilarious.
What's funny about it, but not surprising, is that both songs were written by the same dude, Desmond Child. If I read correctly, the songs came out just a year or so apart from each other. I think the Bonnie Tyler song came out first, but the Bon Jovi one was obviously the bigger hit. Another funny note, Desmond Child is the same guy who wrote such classics as "Livin' La Vida Loca" & "The Thong Song".

It must have been after '95 when I saw REM live. They were on the way to being has-beens. Not a great show but they'll always be one of my favorite bands.

All the time you're trying to get those podcasts distributed, the forum really should be altered so only members can read it. Bit snooty, but clearly there are some podcast vultures circling about ready to pick the juicy nuggets off the site without any kind of interaction or involvement.

Regarding what Ghostwatch said. In the future, people should use Megaupload.com for uploading the podcasts. To my knowledge there is no download limits.
Holy shit those downloads went fast! I didn't realize the demand for the Podfathers. I couldn't grab them when Ally uploaded them, and now I just got home and they're gone. Wow and dammit! Ghost's idea is good for limiting the downloads, or can the iTunes idea be re-explored?
I'm actually not jones-ing adn trying to pressure, just thinking of what might work best.
Good one Jordan. On their FAQ page it says you can "send your file to multiple recipients (up to 1000)" - do you know if that would that be a max # of downloads? I'm new at the free-hostng/sharing thing.
I was also looking at Rapidshare.com and, if I'm reading it right, it looks like there's no limit on how long they will host the file, but they have a limit on how many MB per hour a free user can download - but I can't find where it says exactly what that limit is (grrrr :(

MB, I've used a bunch of different file hosting services. And to this point, megaupload.com is the best. It doesn't limit how many downloads there are or how much a single user downloads during a certain period of time.
On the boards - you could just let people know you have another one available and ask for a Private Message?
I've posted 4 SAS episodes on the board using megauploads.com Someone try them out and let me know how it works. I thought I was doing what Jordan wanted, but he was recommending .org. Who knew. Still, the way I read megauploads.com it lets me host a fair amount and it says there are unlimited downloads for 90 days. Well I guess we'll see.

A quick review of Ep 1 of Masters of Science Fiction -- essentially it was a 2 person morality play intended to be viewed by George Bush and Dick Cheney. It could have just as easily been set in 500 BC Greece as any date in the future.
BUT the preview for next week with TOQ looks much more Sci Fi and it has the cigarette smoking man from X-Files as well.
So unless you're bored, skip this one and keep the DVR set for next week.

DarkUFO has some scans from the LOST magazine. The article with Evangeline Lilly is pretty Skate-y. You have been warned. But the end of it talks about the rattlesnake scene and the questions she asked to know how to play it and then it shows the actual script of the scene. I found that pretty interesting.
I noticed Jack says that they both got those gold tickets which obviously begs the question Why Isn't Future Kate Behind Bars.

holli, i reckon that kate and jack must have gotten some sweet deal (including golden tickets and kate's record wiped) in exchange for keeping what can only be called "The Secret of JizzIsland."
whether from Dharma, the US gov't, Widdemore, Hanso, or Mr Cluck's, i got no idea.
heck, maybe part of jack's deal with them is that kate gets to come home and her record is cleared. that seems like something that jack would do.

...so it's only been 2 months without Lost? It feels like it's been longer.
Ally, I think I got all the ones you had uploaded onto megaupload. I still don't have Collision which Ralph posted last week, and Elias has a running list of what else is missing in the thread.
It appeared as I tried to download from goofball yesterday that you get 3 downloads a day with a free megaupload registration, but you have to wait some amount of time between them.
Hopefully over the next week/s we'll all be able to get everything we want.

I thought they wanted Michael to be in the coffin in the funeral home. Why HP couldn't get off his rear and film that, I don't know, but it's more fun to speculate about who's in the coffin that to know anyways.

If they had shown him in the coffin, it would have been shocking. I wonder why Walt wasn't at the funeral home. That's the only thing that makes me think it's not Michael. I guess Walt could be anywhere though at that point.
I think the reason Walt wasn't there is that he's back in New York or something, maybe with his grandma. The funeral director tells Jack that this isn't the funeral, just a viewing or something like that which leaves room for there to be another, better attended service.
Not quite as good as Locke, but close.

Walt being with his grandmother does make sense. I wonder if we'll ever get to know who is in the coffin definitively.

The other day I was flipping through the channels when I passed up one of those religious channels. They had a movie about Jesus, Jesus was being played by Desmond!

I think from an physical accuracy standpoint Sayid would have been better casting, as long as Naveen didn't use his real accent. It's atrocious.
Yeah Palmer, I'm going to give FG a go. Getting in on the ground floor so to speak. I'm willing to give a couple of weeks. After all, there's still nothing on broadcast TV until late Sept., Masters of Sci Fi notwithstanding.

i know what you mean, Holli. it's pretty damned hot over here too, i just got back from outside and i thought my skin was gonna melt off. surprisingly it's only 93 degrees, it feels a hell of a lot hotter out there.
and about the jesus thing, although the accent was off, he at least looked a lot like every other movie jesus.
like i said, he looks just like desmond with more clothes on.
