p, I'll be on the look out for it here. Where did ya find it? Some place like Southeastern Meats? Wait, you don't have a Southeastern Meats if you don't live in the southeast. Do you have Northeastern Meats?
it's just Purdue like you'd get at any ol' store. we were at a wholesale club looking for some kind of frozen chicken so i thought i'd try your lunch from the other day.
we're big on dinners that take twenty minutes or less to cook. :)
For dinner in 23 minutes or less, you really can't beat the Dharma Chicken Pot Pie. Just pop it in the microwave for 15 minutes on high, then 8 minutes on 42% power, and kablammo! instant meal.
So, I was in NJ recently, and needed to fly home out of Newark on Friday night. Well, my freakin flight was delayed to the point that I couldn't get home when I was supposed to. I've since heard that flights out of Newark are delayed A LOT. Anyone else here have experience with that airport? I'll probably be going back to Jersey from time to time, and maybe I should just go ahead and start scheduling an extra night...
Also, did anyone catch the show "Traveler" last Wednesday? Sorry if you've already discussed, but I've been away and unable to read the blogspot. (stuck in Newark...)
If you haven't seen Knocked Up...run to the theatre and see it now! My only (minor) complaint--it was about 30 mins too long. However, it was hilarious!!!
I have been suprised to hear how good "Knocked Up" aparently is (only b/c it looked pretty average from the promos). I will have to find some time to see it - I liked "40 Year Old Virgin" by the same director.
David: I gotta tell you something. I'm really excited about it. Uh, for the first time, today, I woke up, I came to the store, and I - I feel confident to say to you that if you don't take this Michael McDonald DVD - that you've been playing for two years straight - off, I'm going to kill everyone in the store and put a bullet in my brain!
Paula: David, what do you suggest we play?
David: I don't care. Anything! I would rather - I would rather watch "Beautician And The Beast". I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothin' against him, but if I hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, "Yah Mo" burn this place to the ground.
Hey Kim and Aimee - it looks like your influence is spreading - someone else is starting their own book club. I can feel it - TLI's reach is growing...
...copy cats ;) (I kid of course - immitation is the sincerest form of flattery right?)
Well, it's not masterpiece as far as books go with the one page chapters and all, but I admire BC for his hard work. Surprisingly, he's a serious actor. There were a few tears, like at the booksigning in his hometown, but overall very humorous and enjoyable. I plan to pick up his next book this week. What do you know? This may actually get me back into reading. I may even pick up Memoirs of a Geisha and finally finish it from last summer.
Steph, did you like the book?? And I saw "Knocked Up" and it is quite HIGH-Larious... Also, I saw "Superbad," which comes out at the end of August and it is also quite hilarious. Perhaps even funnier...
Not sure if there's any Soprano's fans on the blogspot or not, but did anyone watch last night? Holy cow... Doesn't look like it's gonna end well for T.
I'd like to make a plea for no Sopranos spoilers - it's very selfish of me since I have 7 unwatched episodes sitting on my computer. I just haven't had enough time to sit down and enjoy them as they should be enjoyed - with a cigar and a 7 & 7.
Looking forward to some great podcasting this week - J&J's Ramblecast, The 'Lars, and, hopefully, TLI ;)
I can respect that, Elias (or, at least, no spoilers without ample warning). With the show ending next week, you might want to get caught up, thought ... it's going to be tough to avoid being spoiled.
On another note ... how is it that there's no spoilers at all about the last couple of Sopranos, but every year the finale of Lost gets 100% spoiled? What's Cusalof doing wrong?
I'll try to watch one every night this week but I might have to go for a marathon at the weekend. Crazy that I haven't bothered to watch them - it's only one of my all time favourite shows.
I don't know. After watching what's his name die of cancer for an entire hour, I just can't get back into the Sopranos. I don't know what's happening but I don't forsee a happy ending for Tony.
That cancer episode was tough to watch, but imo compelling, and incredibly realistic. Not many shows would do an episode pretty much structured around the cancer death of a minor character.
Palmer, if that happens, we'll mark it down that you called it! :)
Ally- first come, first serve. Here's my email address. thehickchick@gmail.com Send me your physical address and I'll get it in the mail to you tomorrow.
Elias - i'll try to be good about Sopranos spoilers but it's really tough. That show has become such an institution that it's hard to believe that it's really going to end next week. I'm really enjoying this season, because i love the characters so much, but, sort of along the lines of Stephanie's problem, the season's structure has been kind of uneven, with plot development comming in weird bursts.
-i'd be happy to get in the Chin book queue. Evil Dead 2 was an early favorite.
-i got today off, and i'm spending it doing spring cleaning. i just finished reorganizing my records, which takes forever because i get caught up in how i'm going to split up the genres, and where some groups fall. i think that's secretly half the fun of having a library of records, books, DVDs...
-i'm 3 hours into the Lost Lowdown 13 hour megathon, and i think they're halfway through recapping the episode. i can't really imagine what they're going to talk about for 10 more hours. i'll drop them like crying baby as soon as the new TLI drops in our laps though.
I agree with the problems with plot develpment. I'll be vague so as not to spoil, but it seems like a whole bunch of things have happened over the past 3 or 4 episodes; it's almost overwhelming. The events with Dr. Melfi over the past 2 weeks have seen particularly rushed. Early in the year, there were a lot of episodes where not much of anything happened (remember Vito's son in the shower?) ... I'm not sure why they couldn't have paced the more interesting things throughout the year instead of bunching it all together at the end.
And Andrew, if you make it through those 13 hours, you deserve a medal.
Thanks Steph! I'll be making my way over to Chez Jay & Jack right now then. Its a little scary how much I'm looking forward to Lost podcasts now (even non-Lost podcasts by Lost podcast-ERS). Whatever gets me through the desert right?
thanks for specifying that it was your wife that had the ultrasound. lol. so how far along is this baby boy? or should i say how far along is your wife with carrying the baby boy?
While the show itself was complete garbage. I gotta say, Sarah Silverman's Paris Hilton joke was pretty funny. Especially as Paris was in the audience herself.
And cheers Steph - the Ramblecast sorts out tomorrow's commute. I don't think I can face listening to a 13 hour podcast, even if it is Lost-related. Still, it must be some kind of (dubious) record.
I heard Paris was going to jail - now we just have to steal the key and throw it away ;)
Drive-by beach post! Don't hate me because I'm tan. I so wish this was 69. Waiting to see who will take that bait.
Congrats MB and Mrs. MB! I think you should pick one of the many, many, many MB names that have been clogging the blogspot for weeks now. Mookie Blaylock is one of my favorites, as well as Marion Barry.
My favorite mb was always Mister Bill, even though he's not been heard from in close to 30 years. And I'm happy to see that good ol' Mugsy Bogues frequents the blogspot.
I also like Ally's idea of mb Jr. You could also do mb II, and call him The Deuce.
So my wife is out of town at her family reunion. It's almost 9pm, and I've just realized that if I want to avoid starvation, I need to feed myself. Fortunately I found a tub of chili in the back of the freezer. Good thing I'm sleeping alone tonight.
Holli, I am so painfully jealous of you. Enjoy it.
Jordan, I'm sure Pairs approved the jokes. She's of the belief that any publicity is good publicity. She was photographed buying a copy of her own porno video. She has no shame.
She didn't look like she thought the joke was funny, Steph. And I don't give her enough credit that she could have put on a convincing 'acting like she's pissed when really she's not' performance. Of course, what does she expect when she shows up for an awards show 4 or 5 hours before she's due to report to prison?
p.s. For those who might be interested, here's her mugshot, courtesy of the smoking gun.
I get to screen a lot of films before they come out for free, and I was at the one for "Hot Rod" and right after meeting Andy Samberg and just before it started, I decided to go. It just felt so...wrong. Kinda like "The Ring 2."
Andy Samberg is funny in small doses. He's very similar to Jimmy Fallon in that way. I think he's funnier than Fallon. They both play the funny guy who tries to be cute but act like he isn't trying. Adam Sandler wannabe #1 & #2.

steph, thanks again for the heads up on Bourbon Chicken. :p
DHARMA BOURBON CHICKEN!

if it wasn't for having an empty wallet I'd be seeing that film right now.
I have been suprised to hear how good "Knocked Up" aparently is (only b/c it looked pretty average from the promos). I will have to find some time to see it - I liked "40 Year Old Virgin" by the same director.
Hey Kim - did you and Aimee record this week?
One of the funnies from 40 Year Old Virgin:
David:
I gotta tell you something. I'm really excited about it. the 'copy cat' sling was of course directed at the other site (jokingly), not K&A - realized that could have been read either way
TLI = the last lost podcast I listen to religiously to release a post-finale episode.

Ok, I gave up with the clickable links.
Why have I not seen Fight Club before now? This is hilarious.
I'm officially finished with The Chins Book. Who wants it now?
your review?

books are cool. one day, i'll read another book. we should all use Aimee as our book reading idol.
she's like a sassy little Levar Burton.
Is that how libraries are divided? By animals?
i wouldn't know. i clearly haven't been to a library in years. :(
Steph, did you like the book?? And I saw "Knocked Up" and it is quite HIGH-Larious... Also, I saw "Superbad," which comes out at the end of August and it is also quite hilarious. Perhaps even funnier...
And nevermind about if you liked it... I just read your review.
I really should read all the entires before commenting.. Hmmm...
brooklyn, should we all make concerted efforts to see Knocked Up as soon as possible?
I want to see Hot Rod.
heheheheheheheh. Steph, i may wait for that one to be on DVD. i just hope they work in a KABLAMO! somewhere in the movie.
Not sure if there's any Soprano's fans on the blogspot or not, but did anyone watch last night? Holy cow... Doesn't look like it's gonna end well for T.

Damn Elias, Get with the program! Next week is the final ep. Gonna be hard not to be spoiled once that happens.
so 6x21 is the final ever Sopranos?
I'll try to watch one every night this week but I might have to go for a marathon at the weekend. Crazy that I haven't bothered to watch them - it's only one of my all time favourite shows.
I don't know. After watching what's his name die of cancer for an entire hour, I just can't get back into the Sopranos. I don't know what's happening but I don't forsee a happy ending for Tony.

Tony Soprano gets eaten by the polar bear.
That cancer episode was tough to watch, but imo compelling, and incredibly realistic. Not many shows would do an episode pretty much structured around the cancer death of a minor character.

John. Wasn't that his name?
Hey Steph-
Is there someone next in line for that book?

13 hours? that's kind of past the point of amusing and into the realm of incurring hurtful comments.
who the hell podcasts for 13 hours?! and why would someone listen to all 13 hours?!
which begs this obi-wan quote:
"Who's the more foolish: The fool, or the fool who follows him?"
Oops, seen=seemed in my last post.

KABLAMO!
w00t! nicely done!
Sopranos was friggen insane. Can't wait for next week
Ramblecast is out, Elias and all.
Well its official folks - my daughter is going to have a baby brother! Just had the ultrasound this morning - w00t!
P.S. I should specify - my WIFE had an ultrasound this morning and...etc...:)
Thanks Steph! I'll be making my way over to Chez Jay & Jack right now then. Its a little scary how much I'm looking forward to Lost podcasts now (even non-Lost podcasts by Lost podcast-ERS). Whatever gets me through the desert right?
CONGRATS, MB!
thanks for specifying that it was your wife that had the ultrasound. lol. so how far along is this baby boy? or should i say how far along is your wife with carrying the baby boy?
Dec 11th release date for the Season 3 DVD set?
Apparently, not for you lucky suns of bitches over in the Uk...

Congrats MB! Can you teach you daughter to say "Baby Brotha" like Liam does to Charlie? That will be funny!
Thanks Ally!
I beleive we're at 20 or 21 weeks (I'm really bad at keeping track), so he should arrive around November.
Kim - that's good...
I'm totally trying that - she is a total ham and will do just about anything for a laugh.
While the show itself was complete garbage. I gotta say, Sarah Silverman's Paris Hilton joke was pretty funny. Especially as Paris was in the audience herself.
And congrats MB!
congrats, mb. that's awesome news. another tax credit! muhahaha!
i suggest you name him William Hartnell and then have 9 other boys after him.
/obscure
Congrats, mb. I have no cute comment to make.
Jordan, what are you talking about?
Congrats MB!
Hahaha. Whoops. I was talking about the MTV Movie Awards from last night.
Sarah Silverman funning on Paris Hilton
Congrats mb!!! (and to Mrs. b, Little Girl b, and future Baby b!)
Drive-by beach post! Don't hate me because I'm tan. I so wish this was 69. Waiting to see who will take that bait.

Holli
watching the orig' Terminator and I was good in it ;)
Why thank you.
I really hope Paris Hilton's teeth are going to me ok.
Congrads MB
"You're talking about things I haven't done yet"
anyone remember that old jungle cut? must've been in the early 90s sometime. Probably the wrong place for this sort of chat but you never know.
Sarah Silverman is funny - she rinsed Tobey Maguire just before the Paris joke.
and we're supposed to believe that holli's not just waiting around for to kablamo? :p
to = the, apparently
i'm here for the assist. whoever wants to Kablamo, go ahead....
Ka
Blam
O!
I was holding out for Holli to make a drive by. Knowing how she senses these things. But I couldn't let it sit there any longer.
nicely done.
good one jordan, i was thinking palmer was coming back to Kablamo, but i guess not.
My name is available!
So is mine!
You are all excellent - thanks so much for the comments! Bloglove to you!
Now....for the name...(rubs chin) hmmmm...Palmer and Holli have excellent ideas...:)
i hope you pick a nice one, MB.
MB, jr. sounds good too. or maybe you wanna go for something more traditional like morgan brown.
My favorite mb was always Mister Bill, even though he's not been heard from in close to 30 years. And I'm happy to see that good ol' Mugsy Bogues frequents the blogspot.
what happened to the podcast?
good things come to those who wait, anonymous.
And anonymous, the podcast is delayed by a week or so. Hopefully it's coming soon. Just remember that the good things in life are worth waiting for.
Whoops, missed your posting there Ally!
LOL @ Trevor.
MB- I would like to stand behind Trevor's idea of calling him The Deuce.
But I would like to clarify that I would not like to stand behind Trevor, just behind his idea.
Glad to know we're all on the same page, Trevor.
Holli, I am so painfully jealous of you. Enjoy it.
Jordan, I'm sure Pairs approved the jokes. She's of the belief that any publicity is good publicity. She was photographed buying a copy of her own porno video. She has no shame.
mb, suggest calling him Jack.
She didn't look like she thought the joke was funny, Steph. And I don't give her enough credit that she could have put on a convincing 'acting like she's pissed when really she's not' performance. p.s. For those who might be interested, here's her mugshot, courtesy of the smoking gun.
I'm so geeking out over . If this doesn't work, I quit.
steph, i'm just wondering what the strange catch will be with the Surface. overheats? only microsoft can replace the screen when it goes bad?
still, it'll look freakin' cool.
p, I'm giddy as a school girl over the surface. It could be even cooler than the iPhone.
First off, congrats MB! That's some sweet ass news! Second, Ally enjoy the book! It's quite funny...
And third: yes, Palmer, everyone should absolutely see "Knocked Up" as soon as possible! However, stay away from "Hot Rod." But see "Superbad."
Let's recap: "Knocked Up?" Lovely. "Superbad?" Pee your pants hilarity. "Hot Rod?" Let's just hope good 'ol Andy survives this diarrhea of a film.
ah! $5k to $10k. so, THAT'S the catch. yikes.
would like it better if it was at an incline or something so you wouldn't have to hunch over it.
and can i play games on it? :p
brooklyn, have you seen Hot Rod or are you just surmising that its crap from the trailer?
hopefully, i'll be out at the theaters tomorrow night.
I get to screen a lot of films before they come out for free, and I was at the one for "Hot Rod" and right after meeting Andy Samberg and just before it started, I decided to go. It just felt so...wrong. Kinda like "The Ring 2."
Or "The Ring" come to think of it...
