Superb! Just ready for my tip to Scotland tomorrow!

Who's gonna miss the LOST finale - why, me of course. I'll catch up with it in a couple of weeks.

I have totally thought of the exact thing that Aimee said about Jacob wanting to "die". Ever since we saw the ring of gravel/ash/something? encircling the cabin, I have been thinking that it might mean that Jacob is trapped there. I have an idea that I'm going to write on the SPLOG

lmfao @driver Bob's call :D

also - I totally forgot about the fact that Daniel's journal ends up on the Hydra island! processing....

Show of hands -- who thinks Locke is Locke and who thinks he's the smoke monster or some other Island manifestation?

I think I'm leaning Island manifestation.

I'm going with Locke is Locke. I think he might be being used by the island and/or Jacob, and that's why he was resurrected and is focused on his "purpose", but I don't see him being the same thing as Yemi in "Cost of Living" or Rousseau's Robert in "The Little Prince" (after he was taken by smokey), who I see as either being a manifestation of smokey/the island, or re-animated and controlled by smokey/the island.

Another excellent call from Ben Linus - lmafao! Nice Desmond voice + Stewie Griffin as little Charlie.

Where the f**k is everyone today. THE FINALE'S TOMORROW!!! C'mon - people should be talking!

just a couple of thoughts:
a) locke was never special,he told richard that he was sent by jacob and that he was the leader when he was flashing to 1954. then richard believed that and went to see him and keep tabs on him, believing he was indeed special.
b)the oceanic 6 were never meant to come back.
c)we will see locke fall and i believe aaron will play a major role in season 6

Anybody got any ideas on what this years secret scene, 'The fork in the outlet', could be? I'm thinking maybe something in relation to Jacob and finding out he has a connection to the losties...

Lost: The Complete Fifth Season to street on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on 12/8.

Wow :) Thanks Giancarlo, Herlihy, and Jamie for posting

Who says yelling and cursing never motivated anybody?

(actually, I don't know of anyone who's said that - it's often a pretty effective tool - lol)

Giancarlo - good ideas -
a) Locke certainly might not be the savior that some make him out to be - except that he seems to be the only person who's heard Jacob (or whatever's in that cabin) speak - that must mean something I think

b) I think it's questionable whether they were "meant" to come back - in other words, I'm not sure their return to the island "always would have happened" as Faraday might say. I kind of have a spoilery theory about this - so I posted it on the SPLOG
c) By seeing Locke "fall", do you mean as the leader of the Others, as in he'll lose that position of power?

mb said...

Thanks for the heads up Ralph. Now I just need to buy a Blu-Ray player :0

I'm hoping that because I'm not hyped up at all about this finalé that it will blow me away in orgasmic proportions.

thanks mb! i appreciate your input and you are right i fortgot that locke heard jacob, i guess we'll see whats the connection there.
i think locke will not be the leader for long and that a clash with jack is coming.

Offical Lost Podcast news report:

- The LOST blu-ray will contain lots of footage from the 100th episode celebration featuring Ace Of Cakes. The way they phrased it made it sound like us regular ol' DVD folk will be shit out of luck.

- the Pierre Chang video from Comicon last year is NOT canon, and didn't happen in the LOST universe where our story is taking place.

- They are aware of the compass paradox and meant for it to be there. It sounds like they are happy with it being a weird artifact of time travel and aren't going to try to address it in any way.

Which makes last year's ARG even more superfluous. Let's hope the ARG this year will be more relevant.

Yeah it did indeed bite. They explained it in the OLP by saying that part of the reason for such a lack of an ARG was b/c of financial cutbacks (with the recession and all). Don't know how much an ARG actually costs to produce, but I have no problem believing that ABC pulled the plug on it deeming it an easy way to save some money (I have to think Lost ARGs would be one of the first things cut from the budget).

OK I can't keep it in any more - Jacob stole Richard's innocence and is about to steal Locke's too. That is the reason for Alperts concern over going to see Jacob.

;)

I think Locke has realized that there is no Jacob and that he, in a way, created him. Locke killing Jacob will be Locke either showing that he created him (ie the compass paradox) or Locke sacrificing himself and ending the Jacob fiasco so the Others can be free.

And Star Trek was crazy good...wow.

- Fringe finale was poop, like they rehired whoever wrote the shitty pilot episode. Seriously felt like Heroes at the end.

- Stephanie, i like the theory that Locke is Jacob and that's why everyone is so weirded out by his insistance to go see (and kill!) himself. I also think it would be really funny because everyone saw it immediately in the 1st appearance of Jacob and Damon & Carlton have been playing cute about it ever since. Jordan might gotta choke a lost creator =)

really, andrew?

really?

i quite enjoyed it, telegraphed though it was. much better than any Heroes finale.

scrdmnkydst said...

I really honestly don't think that Jacob is fictional or that Locke is Jacob himself. I'm still gunning on the idea that Jacob is an actual person. Just because we've not seen him doesn't mean that he's not real.

andrew. said...

i just tells it likes i sees it, and i saw poop, miles and miles of poop.

I've been juggling the issue that Locke may not be special for a whle now. By telling Richard he's special...everyone thinks he's special etc etc. I know all that. But I have a hard time believing that the only reason he is special is because he told Richard he's special because we were watching this show for 21'2 years before there even was a freakin Richard. The writers wouldn't just con us into thinking he was special if it's all a time travel joke. If they wanted us to think he was special since the very beginning then he better be special. I don't like going with a show for 6 years just to be conned out of what we are all supposed to believe.

And stop the Kate hate. I hated her half a season before every single fan jumped on that bandwagon. Yes she is annoying and her actions recently have been nothing but a pain in the ass. But what female character on this show is more important than Kate? Penny? Claire? No it's Kate she is THE female character on this show. Jack was supposed to die and Kate was supposed to be the hero. They aren't just gonna make her completely hatable close to the end to kill her off. The island is all about redemption.

John V. Holder III said...

So a caller on the podcast totally made things clear to me that might have already been clear to everyone else. Desmond (as Faraday said early in the season) is uniquely special. I didn't understand why he said that. But he can change the future, which he did a few times by saving Charlie. He seems to be the only one who can do that. Jack, however, wants to change all of the 815er's PASTS...which occurred in the future and in the past...while he is in the past. So that's different, right? K, bye.
