Alirio said...

I'm so glad I stopped watching Heroes after hour two of the season premier. I will watch the rest of the season, eventually.

TLI is such a welcome sight... uh, I mean sound...

Jordan said...

I think a lot of people go a bit overboard with the Heroes hate. It's become a bit of the cool thing to do. Sorta like a lot of people did a couple years ago with that one show, Lost. I'm still somewhat enjoying Heroes. Even if it's a bit messy. That said, I didn't like tonight's ep very much. Hopefully it was all the fault of the two guys who were fired.

Just watched the last couple Pushing Daisies ep's. For whatever reason, it seems to always sit on my dvr for a couple weeks. Yet when I watch it, I really like it. It's going to be a shame when it's ixnayed.

Also watched The Office & 30 Rock. Dwight & Jim stuff was great. Jim & Pam stuff not so much. Really getting tired of them. They seem to suck all the funny right out of the show whenever their storyline takes center stage. 30 Rock was pretty funny. I liked it better than last week's.

Elias, What about season 5 of The Wire do you find weird? It may not be of the caliber of earlier seasons. And isn't quite as flashy. And the switch to the news room stuff takes a bit of getting used to. But I thought it was pretty dang good. I really liked Gus, the editor of the paper. Point of note re: season 5. The annoying little prick news reporter, Scott Templeton, is played by Thomas McCarthy. The dude who wrote and directed The Station Agent & The Visitor. I had no it was the same guy until I recently watch The Visitor, which I highly recommend.

If the squirrels in your town happen to be a bit bigger than most.

Mr. Bill said...

Jordan, I agree with the Heroes hater thing. Sometimes you need to stick with a show through tough times.

Remember baconnaise it makes everything better.

t-dot kim said...

Am I the only one that slightly enjoyed Hereos this week?

I thought the last 15 mins where the only thing worth watching. "Sloppy" is perfect word to describe what happening of late on the show--but it's still better than most shiite on tv. The backstory stuff didn't quite make sense, but because of the characters they've introduced they had to "create" their history to run parallel to this history of characters already established, which I felt was kinda rushed and of course "sloppy"

I love Peter's hair like that--the wig wasn't that bad either. Better than the last one they used, lol!

memphish said...

Not wanting to be a trendy Heroes hater is why I chose not to watch the show at all this year. Last year every episode irritated the snot out of me, and I just wasn't up to the aggravation this year. I figured if it was amazing it would be easy enough to pick up since NBC makes it readily available. But from what I've heard it continues to do the things that annoyed me last year and so I'm glad not to be spending my time on it watching or hating. I wish it would turn back into a (1) compelling, (2) coherent drama with (3) characters I cared about, but it fails on all 3 of those criteria for me, and nothing I've heard about this season suggests a turn around.

But if you enjoy it, enjoy it. I prefer spending that time watching my DVRed Chuck and HIMYM.

As for Pushing Daisies, I still have the last episode sitting on my DVR. For some reason I just can't bring myself to watch it. I think it's the promo photos with the women in disguise once again. I really don't like that aspect of the show this season.

So Fringe is finally back on tonight. Do you think anyone will remember?

t-dot kim said...

I haven't watched PD either. I'm so sad that it's most likely about to be canceled. I wish the networks would give tv shows a fighting chance. With all the election stuff out of the way, maybe that could open the doors to give them that chance.

As I went to tweet half way through watching about how bad Heroes sucked last night, the tv was taken away from me for the Wii. I didn't put up a fight. I don't care what happened in the last half. It's abysmal.

t-dot kim said...

Yikes!! Really, that bad, Steph? I still liking it--I guess I'm hoping for a big payoff that may never come :(

scrdmnkydst said...

I really didn't like last night's episode of heroes... For something that's been proper anticipated, Kring has been hyping up that episode, i thought it was not very good. Oh, btw, i'm not being a trendy hater... i've quite liked this season so far.

Also, On my countdown thingy i've got Lost returning in 71 days... January 21st right?

Hey all,

What up peeps? Any of the more aged blogspotters have any advice on turning 39 and handling the approach of 40. I really hadn't thought much about it until the last few days and then it kind of hit me like a ton of bricks. Feels strange.

I have a bunch of shows waiting on my DVR but I have been instead watching both BBC and ABC versions of Life on Mars the last few days. Also, there was a great documentary on PBS the other night about these two guys who retraced the route traveled by Marco Polo. Pretty amazing actually. They went to some really remote places in China and Mongolia, and even managed to get a visa into Iran which was close to impossible in 1993-95 (when they went on the journey).

Anyway - if they replay it I'd recommend watching.

andrew. said...

- Looking forward to TLI. Who is this Aimee chick?

- I stuck with Heroes as long as i could this season, but I got to a point where, even when i liked the storyline, the execution pained me.

- I can't watch Terminator on the night it airs, but i'm looking forward to this episode. It got one of those 'the episode you've been waiting for...' trailers.

- Saw Quantum Of Solace yesterday. Craig was good. The main bond girl was good. M was good. Everything else, not so much.

- Should i check out that new comedy series on HBO, the one that was imported from Australia?

elias said...

Jordan - the whole serial killer storyline has thrown me. I was so invested in McNulty and Lester that I couldn't imagine them crossing the line like that. The news room stuff is excellent though. Still haven't seen The Station Agent & The Visitor but they have now been recommended.

Heroes - havent seen yesterday's episode but this season has been good campy fun. I recall describing it as enjoyable trash in season 1 and that's more true now than it was then - more trashy and more enjoyable. It still takes itself a bit too seriously but I don't mind laughing at unintentional comedy.

It is officially brass monkey weather.

I liked Sarah Connor last night. Couple things confused me a bit. I'll go over to the forum to address them, so as to not bore you non-watchers. Speaking of non-watchers, I actually have been somewhat sorta liking Prison Break the last couple weeks even. lol.

Elias, I see what you're saying about McNulty & Lester. Lester came off the same way to me. But McNulty, while yeah he really crosses the line, it does fall in line with his character. He is all about doing whatever is necessary and isn't exactly the biggest company man. And it works because even he ends up realizing he's taken things a bit too far.

andrew. said...

- Re: the Wire Season 5 - i was thrown by the serial killer thing too. I think the writers could have sat at the table a little longer and come up with another slimey angle to exploit for the newspaper storyline, but i still like what they did with it in terms of following the repercussions. God, i love the Wire. I was channel hopping at 3 am the other day and came across a random Season 4 episode on BET and was immediately sucked in.

- Netflix has been shipping me a lot of skippy discs lately. It's really frustrating making it through 3/4 of a movie and have it just stop, and then having to decide if it's worth having them ship another copy. I thought the US postal service was forcing them to redesign their shipping envelopes.

Jordan said...

Andrew, have you ever rented from Gamefly? I did a free trial with them recently. And when they ship out discs, they have a cardboard liner inside the envelope protecting the disc. I'm sure this is just something to take out of Netflix's profit margain. But it might be a smart idea.

I do agree that the serial killer storyline was a bit out there. But at the same time, I feel that it did a good job in pointing out just how ridiculous the whole system is. McNulty had to go to such extreme measures all because the department would only react to such an extreme case. Also did a good job tying in the newspaper and media, and also pointing out their faults in reporting normal, everyday news. We live in such a sensationalist society now days. And thanks to that, quality takes a big hit. That was pretty much the message of season 5. That the news media is all about sensation and awards. I hear you about loving the show Andrew. I get excited when thinking about going back and re-watching all the way through. Anybody want to do a Wire podcast with me? lol.

mb said...

Thanks Jordan, Kim and MB (Mr. Bill) :)

Jordan,
I've watched about 4 eps of the ABC version and 3 episodes of the BBC one - one of which is from season 2. Both good, both entertaining - thus far it seems the plots, characters, and show logo of the ABC show are all basically lifted directly from the original. I imagine watching them alongside each other would not be enjoyable to a lot of people, but I am enjoying comparing the two and seeing how it's been adapted (being a video editor).
The plotlines (or at least the premises) are lifted from the BBC versions with some exception, but since the BBC episodes are a full 60 mins with no commercials, it is interesting to see how they adapted the scripts to make them shorter.

The ABC show is good, but I do enjoy the extra plot time you get with the BBC episodes. I don't know if ABC plans to keep theirs going beyond season 2 - we'll see I guess.

oh my god. this is amazing.

In the UK, we have this horrible trashy reality tv show called "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here". It's basically a lite version of Survivor with low grade UK celebs set in the Australian jungle.

They've had a few minor US people too, like Jimmy Osmond, Janice Dickinson... that sort of people. But this year... this year it has GEORGE TAKEI as one of it's contestants...

How amazing. I might even watch it just for him.

Jordan said...

They tried that show over here years ago and it failed miserably. But it's been on in the UK for ages. You guys love your reality tv, that's for sure. lol.

Leak & not yet official ABC midseason schedule

Lost on at 9 on Wednesday. With Scrubs leading into it and Life on Mars after. Interesting.

Notice that Pushing Daisies is nowhere to be found. :(

Jordan said...

Link should've read "leaked".

Since I'm posting again, might as well comment on the rest of the ABC schedule. Tuesday night is enough to drive somebody to stick their head in the oven. According to Jim and Eli Stone back to back? Yikes! And it just me or besides Wednesday night, is ABC the vagina network or what? There is not a single show on that network outside of Wednesday that any self respecting man would watch. No offense to all the men out there who love themselves some Ugly Betty/Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice/Desperate Housewifes/Brothers & Sisters/Samantha Who/My First Period/Eli Stone/The Bachelor/Extreme Makeover/True Beauty/Here Come the Newlyweds.

scrdmnkydst said...

I do love me a bit of Deaperate Housewifes.

Also... It's not just us who love horrible reality tv shows... Need i remind you of that stupid Pirate show?

Jordan said...

Hahahaha. Too right! You got me there.

That said. Most of our crappy reality shows were copied from you guys.

scrdmnkydst said...

don't be blaming us! If anything, loads of our reality shows are mutually copied from the netherlands. Damn that Endemol.

I can't think of anything other than American Idol that you lot stole from us..

Oh. "playing it straight"? could that be one?

Chris JC said...

Playing it Straight was horrifying. What about The Villa?

Our definition of celebrity is weird, though, in that one of the people going into the jungle this year will be former police chief, Brian Paddick.

Actually - he's an interesting guy, one time London Mayoral candidate and one time our most senioy gay police officer (or at least openly).

Now, don't be formulating any ideas about him and Takei - George is happily spoken for.

Somebody remind me. Was Lost on Wednesday last year? Or was it Thursday? Or was that the year before. I can't remember, it's been so long.

memphish said...

Palmer,

I think everyone feels the deaths on the Island pretty shallowly. Of course, it's hard to remember, but these people have really known each other for days.

Jordan, it was on Thursdays at 10 pm last year. At least I think so. I'm with you in having a hard time remembering.

I started to re-watch Ep. 4.1 yesterday and it was really depressing because 1/2 the people in it are dead now. The only people even left on the Island from Season 1 I think are Sawyer, Rose and Claire, and of course Claire is a big question mark. And Jin too, but I think he's dead. In fact I think I'll feel cheated if he's not dead.

re: British reality shows the US copied - weren't Big Brother, The Mole, Who Wants to be a Millionaire & Dancing With the Stars all Brit creations? I know there are more that I can't think of.
Admittedly, Millionaire IS a game show - true that, so maybe it doesn't count strictly as REALITY.

Apparently NBC has figured out that Knight Rider sucks.

But it sounds like they don't quite get it.

"It's a reboot," showrunner Gary Scott Thompson told The Hollywood Reporter. "We're moving away from the terrorist-of-the-week formula and closer to the original, making it a show about a man and his car going out and helping more regular people, everymen."

Knight Rider helps Joe the Plumber get his kitten out of the tree. That's gonna be great.

PalmerEldritch said...

"showrunner Gary Scott Thompson"

at first i read that as showrunner Scott "Buddy" Thompson. that'd be quite a different show.

andrew. said...

- I wonder if they'll actually follow up on the Libby stuff this season. Absence has made me fonder or our secretive psychologist.

- Stephanie, i got season one of Supernatural yesterday. I'm going to try to plow through it this week.

- Very sad to see Pushing Daisies go, but the writing seems to be on the wall. I hope they atleast air the rest of the episodes. Other than the Emerson's daughter and the mysterious disappearance of Pee Wee Herman and the rival candy shop, i don't think the show has any dangling plot threads.

memphish said...

I'm not sure I care about those PD threads that are there. I guess that's the biggest problem. Unlike Fringe where I only care about the bigger mystery and don't give a hoot about the freaky thing of the week.

Did someone say THE WEST WING? I will always love that show. I'm guessing realism (mainly re: the inner workings/dramas of the White House Staff) is tangental to the success of that show but it was thoroughly enjoyable and well written. Not a lot of shows are that well written and maintain an overall sense of optimism on their chosen subject matter.

What else is good? I saw Role Models, the latest from the guy who did Wet Hot American Summer. I enjoyed it very much. I could relate to Paul Rudd's character who is pretty much disgusted with his job. And seeing Sean William Scott do Stifler over and over again is always entertaining.

That's a tough one. I don't have a favourite of anything - they're always in rotation, and I'm sure it's the same for most. Erm - the Ralph Bakshi version of Lord of the Rings

Last music album bought:
Tasmin Archer - On. iTunes purchase just after I also nabbed her second album "Bloom" as my cassette version isn't much use to me any more.

Once I learned to drive, I found being a passenger in a car very difficult, especially up front. I barely drive, though. I've had a licence for about thirteen years and I don't think my car ownership extends beyond one year of that time.

- Marry Bang Kill - The Office Edition:
(a) Andy, Michael, Ryan
(b) Jan, Angela, Kelly

I don't know any of these people.

Marry Dawn, bang Rachel, kill Gareth.

Bit awkward typing that, as my wife's name is Rachel. Then again, I have an ex also called Rachel - so that helps. Clarification: I haven't only had sex with women called Rachel. Or men. Called Rachel.

Ridley Scott's "Monopoly The Movie" Yay or Nay?
When I heard about this, I assumed it was some kind of previously unexplored November Fool. The story I read is that it's to be set in a dystopian, Blade Runner-style, future. Presumably it will also have appalling dubbing, idiotic lip sync and obvious stunt doubles that will need to be fixed nearly thirty years later.

It's a modern Ridley Scott film, so it'll have Russell Crowe in it. I assume he will play the Top Hat.

My casting suggestions:

Jack Black - Scotty Dog
Gwyneth Paltrow - Flatiron
Laurence Fishburne - Shoe
Carmen Elektra - Community Chest

The Car will be represented by a Bugatti Veyron and footage of Peter Sellers from "Being There" will be manipulated to create the character of Chance. A casting call will go out for the parrot who will portray the sinister figure in charge of society, Mono Polly.

The music will be rendered monophonically.

Steph - in Adobe Audition, you can lower the volume in a number of ways... If any of this doesn't make sense call me on Skype and I'll walk you through it.

To raise the volume of a track: (in Multitrack View)... there is a Volume button under the R,S,M buttons, and above the Pan button...right click on it and you can increase or decrease the volume

To adjust volume of a track: (in Multitrack View)... when you put a file into your session, it's green, you can click on the top of the file and drag down the volume, a yellow line will appear and you can set the desired volume you want.

To raise the volume of a track permanently: (in Edit View)...highlight the entire track, go to the top where it says "Effects", then "Amplitude", then "Normalize"

Stephanie said...

Thanks, Kim. It makes perfect sense. I was doing everything in Edit View.

Alright - I'm trying to crank out a photo montage for my brother-in- law's birthday by tonight and need 1 more song to play under the last 3 or so minutes. I am pretty clueless as to his musical tastes outside of Ween - so I looked through Ween's catalog and I guess some of it could work but it all has (I think) a pretty irreverent tone which doesn't fit with the photos my wife picked out.

Any other alt/indie songs anyone suggests for a single male turning 30?

Chris JC said...

It sounds like you're looking for Coldplay. Specifically, Clocks.

Or, as I've just been saying to Steph on Twitter, Hoppípolla by Sigur Rós which is everywhere over here, but might be groovy enough to get by. Also, no need to worry about the appropriateness of the lyrics. Most are in Icelandic, and the ones that aren't are MADE UP WORDS!

scrdmnkydst said...

they're not made up words chris, they're words from the language the members of sigur ros made up called "hopelandic". That's a pop fact that.

another random fact. "heysatan", the name of a sigur ros song, is icelandic for "haystack". FACT!

Chris JC said...

I meant made up as in they are part of a constructed language. Hopelandic, as you say, or Vonlenska if you want to be really poncey. I'm just saying that they aren't recognised as a major world language.

Like Klingon.

If somebody played Coldplay in my honoUr, I'd punch them in the throat.

Mr. Bill said...

I actually looked up bollocks, and found out that Klingon is bollocks.

In 1977, Professor James Kingsley, a famous linguistics professor at Nottingham University, had accredited the word to be used in the early eighteenth century with the Roman Catholic Church priests. His studies show that the actual word "bollocks" means either a 'priest', or 'rubbish spoken by the priest'. Often, there were priests in the early eighteenth century who generally spoke rubbish, which is how the term "bollocks" became associated with verbal diarrhoea. The conviction came from the fact that Professor James Kingsley himself was a reverend and had been doing linguistic history research all his life.

TRAILERS I SAW:
Valkyrie (looks great)
Fast and Furious (i'm totally there!)
Angels and Demons (zzzzzzzz...)
Yes Man (looks really entertaining)
Seven Pounds (no idea what it's about)
Bedtime Stories (looks like fun)
Star Trek (hated the show, TRAILER FUCKING ROCKED!)

there was no Watchmen trailer, but i saw that one online and it looks great.

By the way, Yes Man interests me because it is based on a true story of a man who bet his friend that he couldn't say yes for a whole year. I think the trailer leads us to believe that it is magical like Liar Liar. This trailer that i saw shows that it is a bet between friends.

MY DEFENSE OF QoS:
People, including stevi, who say that there is NO humor in Quantum of Solace are crazy! Bond getting back in the cab after stopping off at the shitty hotel and getting a nice hotel was funny. Bond calling out all of the members of Quantum at the German Opera was fucking BRILLIANT!! Telling M's assistant that the lead was a dead end was funny as shit. I even thought that Bond's line at the beginning to Mr White "Time to get out" right before the title sequence was a perfect Bond one-off! You know, i am sorry to folks that Bond doesn't say shit like "And i thought Christmas only came once a year", but he is in a bad spot. The woman he loved betrayed him and is dead and he is out for Revenge/Closure. Give the guy a break. Even though i want that Gun Barrel at the beginning, it showed me at the end that NOW we have our good old James Bond. It's funny how people complain about the non-action and card playing in Casino Royale, then complain about the non-stop action and no substance of Quantum of Solace. I concider this the 4th act and finale of the origin story of James Bond and the introduction of 007 of MI6. The film ends with Vesper's love knot for a reason, he exercised his demons. This was the perfect wrap up to james bond's origins and i really liked the 60's pulp feel that marc forster brought to it.

Felix Leiter FUCKING ROCKS!

Ralph- said...

oh yeah. that scene where bond tells the airport attendant that she will get a phone call in a minute was brilliant as well

Chris JC said...

Star Trek was the trailer I was thinking of.

I laughed a lot more in QoS than Casino.

I imagine Elias did too, but probably for different reasons.

I still don't like Bond flying planes though. The dude's a sailor.

If you listened to Stephanie and Jordan's podcast this week, you heard them mention my report of people in Memphis stocking up on guns before the election. Well there's even more on that from the local paper today with the focus on buy now because of fears of new regulation on gun sales. But before the election rednecks (and that includes people making 6 figures or more with country club memberships) were arming up first in case of riots they were predicting if Obama won. Then when there were none of those riots they claimed it was because of riots they feared if he'd lost. And now people are buying because the dozens of guns they already own just aren't enough.

Then to top it all off, I get a robocall from the Memphis Police today informing me there have been a rash of burglaries and car break-ins in my neighborhood (which I already knew) and telling me to be aware of my surroundings and to report suspicious behavior. So you can see how deterrent all those guns in fact are. And while that call was nice, I'd have preferred the Memphis police to get their 4 cars and 4 cops out of the Chick-Fil-A and into my neighborhood rather than calling me on the phone.

So don't you all want to move to Memphis, the sanity capitol of the world?

Holli

Chris JC said...

I wonder how many of these burglaries were committed by people who bought guns in the rush and now don't know what to do with them?

Expect a spike in armed robbery, guys.

memphish said...

Probably not Chris. Our robberies are mostly kids breaking into cars to see what people are stupid enough to leave in them. I've also heard they are ringing doorbells and if no one answers they go to the back and break in. So set your alarms. Our alarm consists of 2 dogs that bark at shadows. There's too many easy targets for them to have to deal with things like dogs and locked gates which we have as well.

Holli

Chris JC said...

A) Wow

B) Sorry for my uninformed comments.

memphish said...

It wasn't a bad assumption, but I think the criminals are "smart" enough not to use weapons because of how much more jail time they'd end up with. I guess the "Gun Crime=Jail Time" TV ads work. The idea that the people they are targeting are armed, not so much.

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

also, hopefully, you're not going to buy a shiny new gun and then use it in a crime when there's a paper trail, a money trail, and CCTV footage of you buying the gun.

hence why you break into enough houses to steal a newly purchased gun.

uh oh...

Jordan said...

Hope Lesnar gets his ass handed to him. That dude is a punk and a bitch rolled into one.

Holli, Interesting to hear you say that people think that they are going to lose their 2nd Amendment rights. Not quite sure where they get that from. Other than, well you know, Barack Obama being a Muslim terrorist. That to me makes even less sense than an attack of the blacks. Which was also the case? People thought there was going to be rioting if he won? By who exactly? The crazy people afraid of him? Or the 2 black people who live in these people's county? I don't get it.

As for the midwestern/southern gunapalooza. Check out this report from the Daily Show on what they refer to as Baracknophobia.

Seriously Fox News. Will just just die already? Just because he's black and scary to the white trash mafia, they're comparing him to HITLER! Seriously?! This makes them calling him a Marxist look like it makes sense. Sean Hannity must die.

The gun owner in the piece said that more people bought guns after Obama won than after Y2K, 9-11, and Katrina. First of all, wow. Simply wow. 2ndly, how afraid/stupid are these people? While I think they are retards for thinking terrorists are going to bother attacking Booneville, Arkansas or Podunk, West Virginia. They are even stupider for being afraid of a computer virus and a natural disaster. Especially in thinking that guns will keep them safe. Let me try to get into the head of one of these people and make sense.

9-11 = terrorists, got that. Obama is a Muslim and is coming with a sneak attack, ok. Katrina has forced all the crazy blacks out of their homes in New Orleans and now they're on the loose, yep. And Y2K meant what? The rise of the machines?!!! "Quick honey! It's a Terminator!"

With all due respect to Holli and Steph, and any other self-respecting person unfortunately lost in that sea of crazy. You guys have taught me that not all people over there are idiots. But holy mother of all crap people! Somebody quarantine off those areas fast, before the stupid spreads.

"Expect a spike in armed robbery, guys"

First off these aren't criminals buying these guns. Just stupid, afraid rednecks and hill billies who have no clue about the world outside their city limits. And just to be clear, this is happening in "Middle America" or as they like to call it, "The Real America", not the whole country. Those of us who live in what Sarah Palin and her friends like to call "Fake America" where we hate freedom and love the terrorists aren't dealing with the scared idiot rednecks stocking up on guns. Hell Chris, I'd be just as frightened to visit Memphis or Alabama right now as you probably are.

I'd love to do a podcast someday about just how different the two America (real vs fake) are. And not in a mocking middle America way. Just in a trying to understand each other way. I wanted to get into it on Steph's podcast when she was telling me all about how people in her town ride around on their tractors, as it sounded totally absurd to me. It's honestly just as different to me as the UK & Europe. Probably more so in a way.

While yes, where I live it is a lot easier to get a gun than in the UK. But I myself, have never seen a gun besides on a cop. Ok, one time when I was helping a friend clean out his garage and he had an old antique rifle from his grandfather. Other than that the only gun I have ever in my life touched was a bee bee gun in middle school. Even then I was uncomfortable.

Jordan said...

Wait a sec Steph. You guys didn't lock your doors before?

Unknown said...

I just got back from QoS and thought it was good, not great. The only bad thing I can really say about it was the quick cutting during the action scenes. It seemed like the longest shot was 2 seconds long and I couldn't tell who was who sometimes. To be fair, I hated the quick cuts in the third Bourne movie too. I guess at 30 I'm getting too old.

More importantly, as I was walking into the theater, there was a Lost season 5 promo playing. It was longer than the promo that went around a week or so ago. I missed the first part and I had to watch where I was going so I didn't see much more new stuff. I can say that I did see a shot of Desmond waking up in bed.

I saw the preview of Watchmen (looks good), seven pounds (no idea what that's about), and some others that I'm blanking on now. There was an odd preview for "2012". I

Jordan said...

That makes Sense Holli. And yeah, I know that Memphis and places like St. Louis have high African-American populations. It's just that the people from the big cities aren't the ones making the news. It's the farmers and small town folk.

Steph, I guess that's one of the trade offs of everybody having guns. You can leave your doors unlocked. It's funny, where I'm from, old people talk about the good old days. Back when you could by a bag of candy and see a movie for a nickle. And back when nobody locked their doors. I didn't think it was still that way anywhere else.

I'd figure the crazy gun people would be just as worried about theft and people breaking and entering. But I also guess that's why they love their guns so much. Gives them a false sense of security. Break in's and petty theft are pretty big over here. Not crazy out of control or anything. But you have to be careful. Especially with your car. I used to have an old Honda that was broken into 4 times. It's always stupid teenagers.
