Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen,

It's Sawyer -- Carlton & Damon want to make sure you never saw it coming.

Why were the others dressed up like the Polyphonic Spree while they were at the funeral?

aimee is lost said...

Nice try, Ralph. Stop framing me!

I guess that's the end of the tailies. Bernard of course doesn't count. They should've let Eko live since the naughty charges in Hawaii were dropped.

Black smoke...white light??

I hope Nikki and Paulo are "next".

Migraines suck. Time for bed finally.

aimee is lost said...

Gaaaa, Polyphonic Spree. I was trying to think of the name of those dudes. Thank you!

Scott and Steve said...

Is that really it for Eko? Pop, pop, ice ice?

aimee is lost said...

I wish I could say no, but once they do "the official closing of the eyelids" thing, I think that's pretty much it for you.

Who the heck was the eyepatch dude? That was kind of lame that the only footage we saw of him was pretty much the same amount we saw in the promo. He looked like Charlton Heston, lol.

I never really liked Eko. But seriously, they need to kill Nikki and Paulo. Either that or Paulo needs to stop crying about not being able to gon out with the heroes and save the island. It's really annoying me.

Is Juliet for real, or is this another one of the other's crazy "trap within a trap within a trap" plans? I hope she is, because Jack needs some lovin' after Kate and Sawyer have wild crazy sex in the rain while they're in their cages.

[ally] said...

OMG!!! but seriously, who didn't see the ecko thing coming?

aimee is lost said...

I do have to give credit for Nikki saying what Ralph had mentioned last week, about them writing in something about why they were never in on the A-team stuff. (Because she said Paulo was always whining and junk)

aimee is lost said...

I think everyone saw it, but it seemed like such an obvious choice, so the Lost aficionados didn't want to think the writers would insult our intelligence like that. I guess they did.

Sir William Osler, MD said...

Rodrigo Santoro would get an Oscar for that amazing piss...if that were possible. Is it just me, or does anyone else recognize his Brazilian accent that he's trying to hide?

[ally] said...

i don't know who they think they're kidding with their lame excuses to make it seem like niki and paulo have been there the whole time.

but other than that, i feel like this episode was better than the last couple.

Ralph- said...

Ron Perlman? i thought he looked like Ron Popiel!

Guys, i am not going to lie to you. i sort of enjoyed that episode, and i am going to go against the crowd and say I LIKE NIKKI AND PAULO! they are such cut-ups. those guys can never catch a break. i am glad they finally got included to go on one of the adventures. its about damn time! but seriously, i dont mind them.

White Light? after 23rd Psalm i put out a theory tht there was a White Smoke Monster. i was halfway right.

Hey, do you think that "well i am a stupid head" line from Locke was a little much? we already know you arent smart dude, you dont have to tell us.

The CGI for the smoke monster looked way better than it has in the past. good job CGI Guys. of course i did not watch in HD, but i was wearing my glasses, so i thought it looked good.

"Don't mistake coincidence with fate"....Oh i get it. it is like last season but they reversed it! clever clever.

liked the episode. i like the feel of this season, but where the fuck did Eko get that green shirt?

Ralph- said...

oh, and jimmy. i like the new avatar. i will change mine too!

Mike Campbell said...

I have to give credit to Nikki for being HOT!!!! Sad to see Eko go. Glad to see old smokey. In my mind whenever someone sees something on the island its the smoke monster screwing with them.

Ralph- said...

i agree mike. and this episode really made that apparent.

how about that promo?

BEST...
EPISODE...
IN THE HISTORY...
OF STORYTELLING...
EVER!

Jimmy said...

Nice Avatar Ralph...are you as trashed as I was in mine?

And I'm with you brother...on Nikki and Paulo! Actually, I had a bit of a laugh about it because it seemed forced, yet not "too" forced, I thought. And Nikki looking all proud that she showed them they overlooked the obvious. I think we will get used to them soon enough.

And was Hurley in a way saying to Locke "Dude...no one else is allowed to be in our little group". Or was he saying that Jack only wanted a few people in his crowd. It seemed like a strange thing for someone to say.

And by the way. Nikki is fucking hot, in my opinion.

Mike Campbell said...

Anyone else think Collen's Husband is the Actor who played Buck and he liked to Fuck?

Darryl Cunningham said...

Superb episode, which renewed my faith in the show. I was disapointed when I heard that Echo was to die, but now I see that his story arc was complete anyway. It's chilling to realise that all the Island's visions are fake, manipulative and malign. Does this mean that Locke has been duped again, as he has so many times in his life, but this time by the Island? (or whatever power or people are behind the Island.)

aimee is lost said...

Mike, Pickett is indeed the same Tarantino-actor you are thinking of; his name is Michael Bowen.

I need to watch this episode again. There's so much I don't remember from last night because I had to watch it while I was juiced up on migraine medication. Did they even show the part from the promo with Pickett & Sawyer?

Somewhere right now Jimmy's head is exploding:

Michelle Rodriguez has been cast as a co-lead alongside Charlize Theron in a new film called Battle in Seattle.

Anonymous said...

Also, what was up with Hurley and Charlie hosting a cooking show? Seriously, they had an audience.

Although, I did like it when Hurley pointed out that Jack normally just left.

I wasn't that big of a fan in the sudden change of Locke, turning into happy-go-lucky guy. It was disconcerting at first, but I guess if you've suddenly realised that you do have purpose, after having all that doubt about the button, etc, you'd be in a happy mood too.

I guess he likes the mystery.

Ralph- said...

I would watch that cooking show. Mike i know that you dont like charlie, but you would even love to see him and hurley as cooking show hosts!

Anonymous said...

Colleen's husband is indeed Buck. And I heard he likes to engage in sexual congress.

Ralph- said...

is that anything like Boner Senate?

Jimmy said...

Michelles coming to Seattle :)

Maybe not...it'll probably be filmed in BC. When I wake up I'll look into it. "Battle in Seattle" sounds like the WTO protests here (of which I was a part).

Anyway...good episode I thought. Not awesome, but good. I'm thinking in hindsight I am going to find Eko's character to be a little wasted...oh well.

Ralph- said...

apparently Adawale's parents had died recently and he had asked to be written off of the show. if that is the case, you got to hand it to the writers for writing on the fly like that. ha ha boner senate

The rabbit ear gods were a little cruel to me with a lot of visual clues i couldn't catch. I got the gist of Juliette's Mockingbird scene but i don't know exactly what she wrote yet.

I agree with Transmission Ryan's assessment that Ecko's journey was wrapped up abruptly and clumsily. I mean, it could have been worse, but they should have just killed him in the hatch implosion and tied his backstory to another character's flashbacks. it definitely felt like there was some sort of outside impetus to get him off the show.

I like that the smoke monster is appearing to people in different ways. I guess because Sawyer & Kate both saw the horse that it really takes on a solid manifestation and isn't just in people's mind's eye. But it also seems to be able to invade people's dreams. It would certainly be difficult to explain it in any non-magic terms.

I'm sorry, unlike everyone else here, I found Nikki & Paulo's presence last night just as grating as before. It feels to me like they are supposed to be the window for the new viewers. They were playing catch-up with the main Losties and all of their dialogue was expository.

i liked the episode, but i wasn't in love with it.

andrew.

aimee is lost said...

Good call Jimmy, it is about the WTO stuff. I just thought a film with two hot chicks and a title like that sounded funny.

Ralph- said...

"His brother was buried in this plane" - what an awesomely ADRed line! that rivals "later dudes, gotta get to the hatch"!

I love them. They are the Mr. Derp of Lost. You never know what you're gonna get with their wacky antics.

but seriously, i do like them.

Mike Campbell said...

I liked Nikki's Shirt. Fantastic use of Costumes.

I think that Ben and Julet are going to end up killing each other. I believe Julet is worse then Ben and is tricking Jack. Ben will figure it out and they will fight and some how both die. The rest of the others are going to be like "thats a shame" and meet the rest of the tailes. Then they will figure out what the crap is up with the smoke monster. Of course this will not happen until the end of this season or next season so remember who said it :)

Ralph- said...

Mr. Derp
was a momentary replacement for Chef on South Park. He was actually pretty funny, and showed that great characters can show up after established ones are gone. Thank you Nikki, thank you Paulo, you should be adequate replacements for Boone and Libby....DERP!

Ralph, I'm so happy I wasn't the only only one that noticed Eko's green shirt! They're definitely stepping up the fashion department in the show. Last week, if I'm not wrong, Claire was DEFINITELY layering tank tops!

Can't wait for a new Dharmalars and Myokom.
Peace!

i'm rewatching the episode in crystal clear computervision.

Ameni, the alter boy's mom, is super cute.

eyepatch dude did look like Ron Pearlman. I also noticed that he was wearing a Dharma jumper.

I do think Juliette is making a power grab and she'll be just as bad as Ben. If their entire plan was hinged on Jack falling for her, then she would know that she held all of the cards.

on this viewing i wasn't as bugged by Nikki. Her lines didn't seem as tinny. I think i hear the island demanding a sacrifice of Paulo though.

andrew.

Ralph- said...

Ron Perlman looks a little like Carlton Cuse. maybe it is Cuse.

Jimmy said...

So it's looking like only Ralph, myself and maybe Andrew are in the Nikki fan club. We'll see...

But can I just say that Paulo kind of looks different everytime I see him. Maybe it's in my head.

Andrew...

Am slightly curious as to where in NZ you live, as I spent 14 years in the Waikato. I even have an NZ passport, and can shear a marino!

Ralph- said...

Did anyone else think
ABOUT THIS
while watching last night?

i am gonna make Nikki & Paulo fanclub t-shirts!

Jimmy said...

Ralph...

Make the shirt, put it in the store, and I will buy one, my man :)

Hot new theory...you heard it here.

Was talking to our admin about 30 minutes ago. She believes that the guy with the eye patch is Razinsky (sp?). I said, "Well, Kelvin pointed out to the mark on the hatch ceiling as being Razinsky's remains". Nancy says that is true...but in fact he shot his eye out in his suicide attempt, and is still alive!

Hmmm...

Ralph- said...

i think that this is the dude who is missing the glass eye that libby grabbed in the "Arrow". who knows?

i will work on the shirt design today.

I am starting to believe that the blast door map wasnt a geographical map but a topologial one. Meaning that it only showed connections but not nessarilty in any usable google earth map sense. So I dont think Locke will need it to find the eyepatch guy.

in tribute of the monster, can we have a repost of 'the' monster episode?!?!?

We need to hear the argument!!!

aimee is lost said...

My favorite MYOKOM w/SAS quote is in that episode.

Anonymous said...

Jimmy,
if you were talking to me about New Zealand, then i think you have me confused with somebody else. i live in Pittsburgh.

It's a long time until February, what are MYOKM & The Dharmalars planning for the break?

andrew.

Ralph- said...

Muderous rampage!

i dont really know how, but i am definitly thinking that the Eurocast is sounding pretty damn fun!

Jimmy said...

Andrew...

Pittsburgh is better than NZ, so no worries there.

Yes...I confused you with the "Other Anonymous". But not to worry.

Funnily I was thinking about the hiatus...February is a long way, yes. But I think I like the Euro'Lars idea...plus a few others that are being bandied about.

We will see, I guess?

Mike Campbell said...

Right before Eko bit the dust did the smoke monster remind anyone of the boss wall in the nintendo game contra? Thats all i could think of.

Ralph- said...

YESS!
it was totally the one from the Waterfall level! It also reminded my of Sandman from Spider-Man

Datty Mike said...

For the Euro-lars hiatus special Perhaps you could try to get hold of some dubbed lost material.
I would love to hear what a german version of jack shepard sounds like getting angry in the hatch.
Or maybe a spanish locke preaching about the button?

aimee is lost said...

Dylan needs to get his hands on some Japanese-dubbed Lost.

Anonymous said...

About that monster...
The only "logical explaination" that I can think of for the black smoke is this...
I think its a mechanical security system experiment. You could easily hear chains so I think it's a robotic arm that's camouflaged by black smoke. I also think there are two types of "black smoke monsters" one that flies around scanning people's thoughts and one that's connected to the ground which is more powerful and can make attacks; the last one is the one that fucked eko and the pilot up.
You could see how the monster that killed eko was much bigger than the monster that we're used to and how it grabbed eko and literally played with him and the other one is the one we see flying around scanning eko's and locke's brain but not making major attacks. That's my take on the monster, any thoughts?

A bit late, but did anyone else scream out loud when we saw the eye-patch guy? Because I did. I actually screamed and jumped off the sofa.

Indeed, Lost scared me in that moment. And I just remembered it.
